“The tone was of an exquisite
sensibility, in every measure. There
was an endless gamut of color and
nuance. The exquisite balances be
tween the instruments and the per
fect matching of sonorities and
tone-colors, when a phrase passed
from one instrument to another
were pas. praise.
“In the Ravel quartet, the com
poser is a marvelous tone-painter,
a veritable wizard in the exploita
tion of the unsuspected tone colors
of which the four stringed instru
ments are capable. These effects
were realized last night, as in no
other performance of the Ravel
that we had heard. It was sheer
ravi-hment of *’•’? P ar. and the
irpe-gination, a virtuoso reading
from any standpoint, and poetry.”
See and Hear this great quartet!
