PETITION FOR CHARTER
Georgia, Seminole County.
To The Superior Court Os Said
County, And The Honorable Wai-:
ter I. Geer, Judge Thereof:
' E. L. Davis, H. D. Broome, Elli
son Dunn, John L. Drake, Sr., A.
A. Parker, R. E. Wheeler and D. F.
Wurst, hereinafter called appli
cants, bring this petition for grant
ing of a charter for a private cor
poration and show to the Court the
following facts:
1. They desire for theinselves,
their associates and successors, to
be incorporated under the name of:
“DAVIS CANNING COMPANY”
with its principal office and place
of business located in Seminole
County, Georgia, with the privilege
of establishing branch offices and
places of business elsewhere in or
outside the State of Georgia, for a
period of thirty-five (35) years,
with privilege of renewal at expira
tion of that time.
2. The purpose and object of said
corporation is pecuniary gain and
profit to its shareholders. The gen
eral nature of the business to be
transacted is, and the corporate
powers desired are:
(a) To own and operate factories
or plants for the purpose of pro
cessing, canning, packing and pre
serving, and for wholesale and re
tail, of vegetables and fruits; to
buy such products for such pur
poses;
(lb) To buy and sell, improve, ac
quire, own, hold, rent, lease, trans
fer and assign both real estate and
personal property of every kind
and character and to deal with the
same in any manner that may seem
expedient;
(c) To have all of the powers and
enjoy all of the privileges enume
rated in Sections 22-1827 and 22-
1870 of the Code of Georgia and all
of the ot’der powers and privileges
enumerated in Chapters 22-18 and
22-19 of said Code and all of the i
powers and privileges enumerated
therein are made a part hereof to
the same extent as if the same were
quoted herein;
3. The amount of the capital with
which the corporation will begin
business shall be $30,000, divided
into 300 shares of common stock of
a - par value of One Hundred ($100.)
Dollars per share, with the right in
the corporation to increase or de
crease said number of shares from
ime to time, to fix the same at
any amount more or less than the’
minimum up to a maximum of 400
shares of the par value of One
Hundred ($100.00) Dollars each,
and with privilege to make said in
creased shares preferred or com
mon stock, as may be determined
by the directors.
4. The corporation shall have
such further rights, privileges,
powers and immunities as are by
law granted corporations of simi
lar characted under the laws of this
State. , ;
5. The post office address of each
applicant is Donalsonville, Georgia,
except E. L. Davis, which is Pal
metto, Florida.
WHEREFORE, petitioners pray
that the court shall grant this ap
plication, and that petitioners shall
be 'incorporated under the terms
hereinabove stated, petitioners pre
senting herewith a certificate from
the Secretary of State declaring
that the name of the proposed cor
poration is not the name of . any
other existing corporation register
ed in the records of the Secretary
of State.

The within petition for charter
having been examined, and it ap
pearing that the application is le
gitimately within the purview and
intention of the laws of this State;
and
It further appearing that the
Secretary of State has certified
that the proposed name of said
corporation is not the name of any
other existing corporation regis
tered in his office;
The application is hereby grant
ed, and the applicants are incor
porated under the name of DAVIS
CANNING COMPANY, for and
during the period of thirty-five
(35) years, with the privilege of
renewal at the expiration of that
time, and all the rights, powers,
privileges and immunities prayed
for in the petition, together with
those additionally provided by law.

deed from Arthur Jackson to W.
R. Faircloth of the same date and

office of the Clerk of the Superior
Court in Deed Book 20 at page 520
conveying the following described
property, to-wit:
