ITS BEEN A RAINY
YEAR
The new year opened with
a rain cloud and it's been wet
nearly every day of the
montn, says C. J. Patterson,
official ram recorder.
Patterson says 8.85 inches
of fain have already been
recoraed at his station, with
same percipitation measured
every day of the first three
weeks except the 10th when
none fell.
Rainfall has varied from
as low as .Oil-inch on the 13th,
to 2.32 inches on the Bth.
The many friends of Champ
Bridges regret to learn that
it will be about three weeks
before he will be dismissed
from Memorial Hospital in
Bainbridge w’here he has been
a patient since suffering a
mild heart attack last week.

Mr. Robert Strickland, band
director of the local schools,
spent last week at his home
in Phoenix City, Alabama.
Mr. and Mrs. Otis Glover
and little daughter, Paige,
spent Sunday- afternoon in
F ainbridge as guests of Mr.
Glover’s brother, Mr. Forrest
Glover, and Mrs. Glover.

THIEVES ENTER ROOF,
• COLLECT $350. AT IGA
1 Approximately $350. were
stolen from a safe in Jerni
gan's IGA Sunday night, and
Police Chief Spurgeon North
says the work looked like that
of professionals.
I North says two or more
persons entered the store
through the roof, then took a
drill and cut the back out of
the safe. It contained about
$350., North said.
’ North says he estimates
the theft took place about
9:30 or 10:00 on Sunday
night. It was not discovered
until Lonnie Jernigan opened
the store on Monday morning.

! Mrs. C. B. Ware who has
been confined to Donalson
ville Hospital during the past
several weeks has been moved
to the home of her daughter,
Mrs. C. W. Smith, and Mr.
Smith on Tennille Avenue.

Mrs. C. E. Gray is a pa
tient at Seminole Memorial
Hospital suffering from a
spinal injury sustained in an
auto accident recently.
Friends hope that she will
soon be able to be back on her
job down-stairs as office as
isistant to Dr. Jacob Holley.
