of honor at a party recently, celebrating her 90th birth

Mrs. Nora Spooner complimented
on her 90th birthday anniversary
On Tuesday of last week,
Mrs. Roy Robinson entertain
ed at a turkey dinner in honor
of her mother, Mrs. Nora
Spooner, on the occasion of
her ninetieth birthday.
When Mrs. Spooner arrived
driving her own car she was
greeted at the door by her
twin granddaughters, Miss
Ann and Miss Annette Storey,
students at Auburn Univer
sity, and her daughter, Mrs.
Billy Storey of Blakely who

Guests were seated at the
table in the dining room and
at small tables placed in the
living room and the solarium.
The dining table was cover
ed with an imported pink
linen and organdy cloth. At
<me end was a silver epergne
with pale pink carnations.
At the other end was a hand
some birthday cake icedin
white and embossed with pale
-pink spun sugar roses and
white ’Easter lilies against
pale pink lattice. Pink can
dles were used. The small
tables were covered with
white linen cloths with nose
gays dfpink carnations in the
writer.
Arriving guests were greet
ed by the Misses Storey who
also-assisted in serving.
After . dinner the candles
were lit-on-the cake and ®uc
aoasSfully blown out by the
honoree .while her friends
sang "‘Happy Birthday” which
means of course that all of
her wishes will come true.

‘A century of Southern beauty’ will
be theme of flower show on April 21
The Colquitt Garden Club
md the Donalsonville Garden
Club will join together to
lave a spring flower show on
April 21st, Tuesday, from
two until six o’clock and from
seven until mine o’clock that
night.
{ This year it is to be held
tin Donalsonville at the pavil
lion at Cypress Park. Ad
mission will be fifty cents.
The theme is to be “A Cen
tury of Southern Beauty”.
All flower growers are invit
ed to exhibit a specimen of
horticulture free and all flow
er lovers and lovers of all
beauty are invited to attend.
Exhibitors will display
their blooms in cola bottles
which they will furnish them
selves. Birth clubs urge their
friends to please display their
flowers and plants for all in
the community to enjoy their
beauty.
