Willie Riley Storey
Funeral services for Willie
Riley (Will) Storey, 71, .f
Dade City, Fla- were held on
Tuesday morning from the
chapel of Evans Funeral
Home. Rev. Marshall Norris
and Rev. Billy Dawson offici
ated, and interment was in
the Corinth Cemetery.
Pallbearers were A. J. Ing
ram, Milford Ingram, Pryor
Brooks, Pat Storey, Arthur
Storey and Morris King.
Mr. Storey was a native of
Iron City, a retired farmer,
and a veteran of World War
I. He died at his home in Dade
City on Sunday after a leng
thy illness.
Surviving are his widow,
Mrs- Lena Storey, Dade City;
a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Rey
nolds, Columbus; two step
daughters, Mrs. Mauris King,
Dade City, Mrs- Blance Little
ton, Yantis, Texas; two sis
ters, Mrs. Grady King, Dade
City, Mrs. Austin Brooks, of
Donalsonville and also three
grandchildren.

Funeral services were held
Monday afternoon for Mrs.
Ernest J. Greene, 65, wife of
the mayor of Iron City, who
.died suddenly Saturday morn
ing at her home.
Dr. James T. Burrell, of
Bainbridge, and Kev- L. E.
Pierce conducted the service
in the chapel of Evans Funer
al Home. Interment was in the
Oak City Cemetery in Bain
bridge. Pallbearers were Paul
Knight, Billy Greene, Chester
Greene, W. 0. Greene, Jr., Ed
win King and John T. Hanna.
Mrs. Greene was a mem
ber of a prominent' pioneer
family. She was born March
16, 1899 in Iron City, the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John T. Lane.
She attended and was a
graduate of G-N.&I.C. of Mill
edgeville. She studied music
at Breanau and played the pi
ano and organ. Before her
marriage in 1918, she taught
school at Iron City and in
Randolph County. Later she
and Mr. Greene taught togeth
er in Calhoun County
Mrs. Greene was a member
of the Bainbridge chapter of
D. A. R. the Ida Underwood
chapter of U. D. ,C., and the
Supreme Forest Woodmen
Circle. A member of the Bap
tist Church, she was an offi
ce1 ’ of the Bowen Association-
Surviving are her husband,
two sons, Alfred J. Greene,
Iron City, James E. Greene of
Brinson; four daughters, Mrs.
Leonora Ingram, Iron City,
Mrs. Pearce Dorrell, San An
tonio, Texas, Mrs. W. T. And
ress, Tallahassee; two sisters,
Mrs. Frederic B. Dunn and
Miss Carolyn Lane, Donalson
ville, and nine grandchildren.
Her cousins were Mrs. Sam
M. Weyman, Atlanta, Rev-

and Mrs. Dodge Taylor, Howel
in the Hills, Fla.

Spooner appeared in 53 games
He scored 138 field goals and
42 free throws for a total of
318 points. He gathered in
162 rebounds, ior an average
of 3.1 per game.

in young Spooner’s honor, call
ed attention to the record the
youngster has made at Tech,
and to the honor and fame he
has brought to his hometown.
Parker will read the proclama
tion at the banquet.
