Rules set for feeder calf sale to be
held on June 25; 500 head expected
The feeder calf sale com
mittee has set the date for
this year’s sale on June 25th.
The committee is composed
of Luther Spooner, Raymond
Odom, J. B. Clarke, Cecil Bolt
on, and Rudolph Spooner. The
cattlemen's association has
set the regulations that those
participating in the sale must
abide by.
A fee of SI.OO per head must

A supper ana evening of
entertainment will be held at
Jaain school Friday night,
May 15.
Supper will be served from
5:30 until 8:00 when a May
Day piogram will be held in
the auditorium. A three-act
play “Hoax of Hogan’s Holl
ow” will also be presented.
Supper prices will be 50c
for children and SI.OO for
adults. The program in the
auditorium will be 25c for all
persons six years of age and
older.

paid at least two weeks in ad
vance of the sale date. No
tees will be accepted after the
deadline, and if the fees are
not paid, the calves will not be
accepted.
The SI.OO fee will be return
ed if a producer sells the calv
es he has entered in the sale-
If 500 calves have not been
entered in the event by two
weeks before sale date, the
event will be cancelled and the
fees will be returned to the
producers.
The following is a list of
rules which must be met be
fore a producer can partici
pate.
Ad calves will be field in
spected under the supervision
of the local or area feed calf
sale committee.
All steer calves will be sold
in graded lots and only calves
grading medium or above and
weighing between 300 lbs. and
600 Jbs will be allowed to sell.
No calves will be moved
from' the graded lots without
the permission of the sale
committee.
All cattle will be weighed
upon arrival and sold on act
ual weight. In the event calves
are carrying excessive fill, the
committee reserves the right
to shrink those calves accord
ing to the judgment of the
committee.
All calves must be consign
ed by June 11. Consignors
should advise their commit
teemen, county agent or the
sale barn manager by entry
date for each sale.

The sale barn will charge
its regular 3 12 percent com
mission.
All steers will be graded on
the basis of U.S. feeder grades
and will be penned according
to grade, weight and color- A
spread of 50 pounds in weight
will be allowed in each sale lot
of calves.
Calves of show caliber will
be sold individually to provide
an opportunity for boys and
girls to obtain calves for feed
ing projects.
Entries are limited to cattle
of predominately beef breed
ing of feed lot quality and
condition.
Calves will be received from
6:00 a.m. until not later than
4:00 p.m. on June 25, and the
sale will beg.n at
8:00 p.m-
Queers will be sold on a
sheet cut basis, the high bid
der gets the first 10 head in a
lot on the list or multiples of
10 head or he may take the
entire lot. He may not leave
less than five head in any
given lot when cuts are made.
Breeders desiring to sell
heifers for breeding stock
may sell choice or fancy heif
ers on individual lot basis. All
other heifers will be sold in
graded lots on the sheet cut
basis.
Terms will be for cash.
