Miss Kidd marries Mr. Riddlehoover
in a ceremony in Hebrew church
On Saturday morning, May
2nd, at ten o’clock, at Corinth
Church, Miss Lucia Ann Kidd
and Joseph Riddlehoover
spoke their wedding vows
with the Rev. W. S. Driggers,
of Colquitt, pastor of the He
brew Freewill Baptist Church,
officiating at the impressive
ceremony.
On each side of the altar
were large white wicker floor
baskets filled with varying
shades of pink spring flowers.
In the center back was a
white candelabrum with burn
ing white cathedral candles.
Miss Ruth Wetherington of
Iron City, pianist, played the
nuptial music.
The bride and groom enter
ed together. She was radiant
in a short bridal dress with a
full pleated skirt and an over
blouse of white lace. Her
short veil was of imported
silk illusion. She wore a cor
sage of miniature white carn
ations.
Present for the happy oc
casion were members of both
families and close friends.
The bride is the daughter
of Les Kidd and the late Mrs.
Kidd, and the granddaughter
of Mrs. Frank King and the
late Mr. King.
The groom’s parents are
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Riddle
hoover. His grandparents are
Mr. and Mrs. W. C- Atkinson
and J. C. Riddlehoover and the
late Mrs. Riddlehoover. Mrs.
Nellie Bush is his great grand
mother. ' ~
Mrs. Riddlehoover, mother
of the groom, wore for the
wedding a navy blue crepe
sheath with a corsage of white
carnations.
The couple is residing with
Mr. and Mrs- Herbert Riddle
hoover.

Bridal Shower
On Saturday morning, Mrs.
Joseph Riddlehoover was hon
ored at a bridal shower at the
lovely home of Mrs. Finley
Perry by Mrs. Perry, Mrs.
Norman Hatcher. Mrs. Carl
ton Kelley and Mrs. Garland
Lane.
Colorful day lilies and light
yellow carnations were used
in the reception rooms.
Congratulations to Mr. Ron
ald Anders of Greensboro,
N. C. on receiving the bachelor
of science degree at the com
mencement exercises of Hunt
ingdon College in Montgomery
on May 25th. Mr. Anders com
pleted the requirements for
graduation in January. Mrs.
Anders is the former Miss
Rosemary Kirkland ©f Iron
City-
Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Height
of Sanford, N. C. were guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Edd Hand on
Thursday night. Mr. Hand and
Mr. Height are old Army bud
dies- They were together in
Europe in World War 11. Mr.
and Mrs. Garland Skipper of
Dothan joined them for sup
per.

yellow corsage.

the guest register.
Delicious punch was served
from a lovely crystal bowl by
Miss Ginger Perry and Miss
Karen Walton. Silver trays
held an assortment of lovely
sandwiches and decorated lit
tle cakes.
Mrs. Garland Lane and Mrs.
Carlton Kelley received in the
den and the gift rooms.
A large number of friends
and relatives called to wish
the bride happiness and en
joyed seeing her many lovely

City after a week’s stay in
Fernandina Beach, Fla. follow
ing the funeral of his grand
son- Jimmy Beard, oldest son

Mack Fain, patient at the
veterans hospital in Oteen,
N. C., states that he is feeling
fine and just sweating out his
tim. He hasn’t indicated how
long he expects to have to be
confined there, but his many
friends here hope that it will
not be too many more weeks
