occasion was to celebrate the
students’ going into high
school next year.

Miss Sherry Hall assisted Mr.
and Mrs. Hall in entertaining.
MISS RITCHIE HONORED

Barbara Ritchie, SCHS senior,
with a cola party Thursday
afternoon at the home of Mrs.
Ward.
- The commencement theme
was carried out in the decora
tions, featuring a green and
white table arrangement.

INSTALLATION SERVICE
The ‘Y’ clubs had their an
nual installation service at
Lake beminoie Monday night.
At the impressive lakeside
service, Coach Denvard Snell
gave the charge to the incom
ing officers over the worship
center consisting of a white
cross and lilies.
Following the installation, a
picnic supper and recreation
led by Mrs. Joy Daniels was

REVIVAL SERVICES AT
JAKIN CHURCH
Revival services begin at
the Jakin Church of God on
Sunday, June 7, at 11:00* a.m.
Services will be held each
evening at 8:00 o’clock.

ist. Rev. Ben H. Phillips is
pastor.
FUNERAL SERVICES FOR
DR. BRINSON
Funeral services were held
Tuesday afternoon in the
Brinson Methodist Church for
Dr. P. A. Brinson, 87, of Bald
win, Fla., formerly of Iron
City.
Rev. John Hayes and Rev.
Clarence Weeks officiated
and interment was in Brin
son City Cemetery with Ev
ans Funeral Home in charge.
Members of Orion Shrine
Lodge No. 8 of Bainbridge
served as pallbearers and con
ducted the graveside rites.
Dr. Brinson was a native of
Iron City and the son of the
late Peyton Glenn Brinson and
Queen Paramore Brinson. He
had practiced medicine in Ha
vana, McClenney and Baldwin,
Fla. and was retired at the
time of his death.
He died Sunday morning in
a Jacksonville hospital after
a lengthy illness.

COUPLES CLUB HAS A
COSTUME PARTY
The Seminole couples' club
held its regular meeting at the
community club house recent
ly with theme taking the form
of a costume party.
Members came dressed as
their favorite characters rep
resenting eras from 1 the gay
20’s through the modern day
TV actors. Carolyn and Bud
dy Johnson were judged the
most authentic in their char
acterization of Granny and
Jed Clampett.
The ladies cooked delicious
box suppers which were auc
tioned off to the men, who in
turn shared their delicacies
with the lady who did the
cooking. A delightful time
was enjoyed by everyone.
Mr. and Mrs. Willis Collins
were accepted by the club as
new members.
The June meeting was turn
ed over to the men of the club
for planning, since the ladies
fliave done the work up to this
| time. A question and answer
game was enjoyed by the
members prior to the adjourn

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dir of
Freeport, 111., spent the day
last week with Mr. and Mrs.
Elsie Gibbons. Mrs. Dir is a
niece of Mrs. Gibbons and
they were enroute to Atlanta
to visit a sister of Mrs- Dir,
Mrs. Jewel C. Cumbie who has
been in Georgia Baptist Hos
pital for nine weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Flem
ming and family of Panama
City, Fla. visited Mr. and Mrs-.
Marvin Cannon and Victor on
Saturday. They met the Rob
ert Millers there.

spent the week end in Wrens
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
R. L- Swan where they were
joined by Pvt. Bob Swan of
Ft. Knox, Ky. Mr. and Mrs.
Jerry Swan and children of

happy occasion, also.
On Sunday they had a fami
ly dinner at Ways Baptist
Church where they enjoyed
being with relatives from Cal
ifornia whom they had not
seen in a number of years.
THE “CHATTER BELLS”
ORGANIZE
The Donalsonville home
demonstration club met at the
home of Mrs. Betty Henning
recently. The club chose at
its nickname “The Chatter
Bells.”

guests over the week end, Mr.
and Mrs. M. T. Simmons and
Terry Ann of Atlanta.

Lessie Johnson of Cedar
Springs, are sorry to learn
that she is back again as a
patient at Seminole Memorial
Hospital and sincerely hope
that she will soon be feeling

the bachelor of science degree

He has been accepted at the
Emory School of Dentistry
where he will be enrolled this
