Some two hundred ballots
were returned immediately
after mail out- This is good,
but of course we had hoped
it would be better.
We have talked to several
farmers at the counter and
those who had not voted in
dicated they were giving
some thought to each nomi
nee’s qualifications. This is
good, too, and we trust every
one is voting for the ones
they consider best qualified.
iSomeone called and asked
if a ballot would be valid if
all names except one are
marked off. The answer is,
Yes. Remember, too, that you
can make a write-in vote if
you want to. Just don’t have
MORE than five names left
on the ballot when you return
it.

70% cost-share basis and we
said these funds could be
spent by December 31, 1964.
We finally received SBO,OOO.
Requests for help in re
building terraces, waterways,
and ditches are now being ac
cepted through August 21st.
We hope to have many, many
more requests for these funds
than will be available for cost
shares. Otherwise, those of us
who worked up the request
showing $382,000 was needed
and could be spent will look
like fools. Then, too, the more
requests we have now, the
better our chances will be of
getting more funds under the
1965 program.
