RECENT BRIDE
Miss Martha Mims, bride
elect, was honored on Friday
at a bridesmaids luncheon at
the beautiful country home of
Mrs. Ralph Trawick. Other
hostesses 'with her were Mrs.
Carl Spooner, Jr., Mrs. Luther
Hastey, and Mrs. Brandy
Trawick.
Arrangements of pink car
nations were used in the re
ception rooms..
The buffet table was cover
ed with a white cut-work
linen cloth. In the center was
an arrangement of pink and
white carnations. Little bags
of rice tied with pink ribbons
marked the places of the
guests..
The bridesmaids were pre
sented lovely gifts by the
bride.

A PARTY
Members of the 1964 grad
uating class at Seminole Corni
fy High School got together
bn Friday night for a farewell
dutch dinner in the Sandal
wood room at the Green Top.
The room was attractively
decorated by Mrs Clark Mose
y, Mrs. Leon Barber, Mrs.
Champ Bridges, and Mrs.
Hardwick Ethridge with four
leaf clovers and horse shoes,
good luck tokens for the de
parting students wishing
them success and happiness
in the freshman college year.
Greenery interspread with
burning white candles trailed
the length of the tables. Mi’s.
jPhil Spooner made place cards
of horse shoes and four-leaf
[clovers which had a verse ap
propriate for the person. The
delicious horse shoe cake with
/Good Luck” inscribed was
made by Mrs. Leroy Dutton.
I All of the high school senior
class was invited. It was re
gretted that some had already
left for college or positions
elsewhere.

union in June. Miss Carolyn

COUPLES CLUB
The Seminole couples dub
held its regular meeting re
cently bringing the entire
family of each member for a
delicious supper of chicken
and rice. i
During a very short busi
ness meeting, plans were for
mulated for a Halloween Car- '
nival to be held in October.
At the adjournment of the 1
meeting, everyone joined in
on an old-fashioned cakenwalk
adding gaiety and more good
food to what was already a
festive occasion. !

honor of their little daughter
at a dinner at their home. Pre

John Hanna has returned
from New Orleans where he
spent the week end with his
parents Mr- and Mrs. J< H.
Hanna. Mr. Hanna is a patient'
at Oschner Clinic and is doing
nicely following recent sur
gery. Their many friends are
glad to hear the good news
land look forward to the time
when they can return to their
home.

CLEAN CEMETERY
WANTED
The Cemetery Association
is beginning a fall cleaning to
remove litter left by the back
wash of the recent hurricane
and clear the grounds of the
last vestige of summer grow
th.
Owners who care for their
own lots are requested to
please clean them also so that
the grounds will be pretty all
during the fall season.
The association appreciates
the efforts of owners to keep
their grounds attractive
which adds so much to the
park like appearance of the
cemetery.

RECENT BRIDE IS
HONORED
Mrs. Douglas Stroller, re
cent bride, the former Miss
Brenda King, was honored at
a miscellaneous bridal shower
on Tuesday afternoon at the
lovely home of Mrs. Bill Mann.
Other hostess were Mrs. Dan
ny King, Mrs. Cecil White,
Mrs. Vester King, Mrs. Spur
geon North and Mrs. La Verne
Holman.
Miss Susan King, sister of
the bride, kept the guest re
gister. . . 4 .
Guests were invited into
the dining room where the
tea table was covered with a
white fringed linen cloth. In
the center was a beautiful ar
rangement of orange, gold and
yellow mums. Delicious punch
was served from a crystal
bowl- Crystal trays held dain
ty party cakes, mints and
nuts.
The honoree was lovely in a
beige sheath dress with a
■pleated over-skirt. She wore a
corsage of white Frenched
carnations.
She received many lovely
and useful gifts.
Many friends called during
the hours of tea to wish her
happiness.

SCUBA DIVING CLUB
MEETS HERE
Miss Suzanne Shingler en
tertained the Scuba Diving
Club, Sunday afternoon at a
jollop supper. \
The club came from
where they are working in
conjunction with the YMCA
there.
They arrived at 12:30 and
after lunch went to Yates
Springs to complete a diving
test.
Later in the afternoon they
met at the Shingler home for
supper. The table was decorat
ed for the occasion with fish
net centered with huge sea
shells and other salt water
life. The group enjoyed a de
licious chicken jailop supper.
After supper all gathered
in the music room for a fun
filled time of singing.
The club has completed
their first course in scuba and
skin diving. They will start on
an advanced course in Octo
ber.
Suzanne is the only girl
member of the team, and will
be assisting in teaching new
divers at the YMCA.
PINEVIEW OFFICERS

president of the Pineview
Community club recently
when they met for a covered
dish supper. Mrs. Theresa
King was hostess for the oc
casion. She had the assembly
