Entertain. .
-A delightful social event of
last week was the Rook party
Tuesday (evening at which Dr.
and Mrs. J. A. Lsndsay enter-
in celebration of their tenth an-
niversity of their marriage.
The reception hall, parlor and
dinirtg room were profusely dec
orated with masses of ferns and
salvia, and the color scheme of
' red and white was carried out in
all the details.
Dr. and Mrs Lindsay received
in the reception hall, and were
showered with gifts appropriate
for the occasian, which were dis
played inthe diningroom. During
the reception Miss Irma Powell
rendered a beautiful musical pro
gram. The game of rook was
then taken up, the score card be
ing hand painted, representing
the union of two hearts. After
the game delicious refreshments
were served, aad each guest was
presented with a tin souvenir of
' the occasion, with a motto at
tached. High scores were made
by Col. J. S. Weathers and Mrs,
W. S. Wight.
The guests included the mem
bers of the Round Dozen Club,
also Misses Hattie Mauldin, Irma
Powell, Messrs Ben Mauldir\,
J£yl Poulk, Jack-McNair,, Wh
Ifearcy and'L. D. Fain, of Pel
ham. ’
Thh house was' beautifully dec
orated for the occasion with pot
ted plants and cut -flowers, the
color scheme of pink and. green
being carried out in detail. Ro,ok
was the game of the day, at
which Mrs, M. C. MoManeus
mace high score. After the game
a delicious salad course was <
served. The,guests present were

Tuesday jafternoon Mrs. W. T.
Crawford was the 1 hostess to the
Round Dozen Club at her loyely
home on Ochlocknee street,
which was beautifully decorated
for the occasibn, the color
scheme being red and white, car
ried out in each detail of the ar
rangement. Quantities of red
dahlias were used, making an ef
fective display in. the tastefully
arranged interior. After an in
teresting game of rook, in which
Mrs G. D. Reddick made top
score, a delightful ice course was
served. Those present to enjoy
Mrs. Crawford’s hospitalities
