Back To The Betlsr Way.
The Progress has had to go
back to the “ AL L H 0 M E
P R1 N T ” system. For a month
or more' we hate been printing
•only four pages here, having the
•other fou r printed in Atlanta by
the Western Newspaper Union.
Our rapidly growing circulation
sind our consequent increasing
-advertising patronage, made it
necessary for us to discontinue
the “patent sheets. ’ We lacked
:space to accommodate our adver
tisers, and needed more space
for news.
We are sure the readers will
like the change. The Progress
is now a sure qnough newspaper
and is not full of foreign adver
tising for which the publisher
gets not a cent. Some of our
readers will miss the serial story
that was running on the “patent”
side, and to compensate for that
we have purchased the right to
publish that mar.velous story of
mystery and sensational climax
es, “The Window of the White
Cat”, one of the most interest
ing serial stories ever yet pub
lished.
Watch for the opening chap
ters, and don’t miss it.
“The Rise of Mr. Roddenberv”
Is the caption of an editorial from
the Savannah News printed else
where. The entire Second dis-
1r :t is proud of Mr. Roddenbery,
but none has more right to be
proud of him than Cairo and Gra
dy county, his old h me. Mr. Rod
denbery will move up to Senate
next time—and next time wont
be long. He has proven that he
>can “do business”—or in other
words—to use a commercial term
— he has made good.
The boll weevil continues to
come this way. There is only
one remedy--get away from the
dominion of king cotton. Raise
something else-and th9re is no
problem here. • Grain crops and
hog and hominy will beat cotton
any old time. Better begin this
year.
Some fellow has figured that
there is thirteen thousand horse
power in the lightnings flash.
We can believe that : -and more.
Now, tell us how much power in
the cyclone’s dash.
