What Adout The
Beys Corn Clud?
What, about the Boys Corn
Club of Grady county?
This paper has heard nothin};
about the formation of any such
organization and it is high time
that the movement was sla ted.
Other counties are already orga
nized, and great preparations
are being made for the corn club
-contest.
The Boys Corn club movement
is a good thing to foster. They
do, in part, what an experiment
station does-they prove, by act
ual test, what intensive farming
will do. From these contests
every farmer learns how to make
more corn per acre; they learn
many other things of value from
the Corn Club Contests.
The Progress wants to see a
Boys Corn Club in Grady County
-a big one, boiling over with en
thusiasm, and if theta is any
thing we can do to aid the move
ment, we are ready to begin,
Yes, Let Us Pave
The Progress is delighted- to
learn that the City authorities
have a street paving preposition
up their sleeve.
We understand that the propo
sition is to pave the side walks
on Broad from Babtist church to
Decator Street South and to. clay
or gravel, the street itself the
same distance.
This paper is right behind this
movement with all the zeal and
enthusiasm and hot air that it
can copunand. Paved streets
and a Sewerage system are 'the
greatest needs for the town oi
Cairo.
Let us have both,
We understand that the as
sessed valuation of all property
in the incorporate limits of the
town of Cairo is only about $800,-
000. Two small. It should be, at
the very least, one and half mil
lion dollars. Let us let out a
few tucks.
