Windows, Whigham, Georgia Miss Maggie Maxwell was one of the many out of town ladies who shopped here Friday. Mr., C. V. Bell was here on bus iness one day last week, 0. C. Spence spent the week end with his family, returning to Atlanta Monday. James Bedell Pearce has gone to Folk'ston and will remainthere during vacation. Ben Massey Barwick was here on business Friday. Miss Ruth Gibson spent last Sunday with her parents at'Don- aldsonville. Miss Etta Jones h at home again, having closed her school near Donaldsonville the latter part of last week. Mrs. L. J. Futrill returned Sat urday from a visit to her daught er, Mrs. Drew, near Cairo,, and is spending a few days with Mrs. N. F. Jones. Dave Swicord of Climax drove over to see his sister, Miss Rubie Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. James Brinson of Climax called oh Mrs. Brinson’s sister, Mrs. R. A. Thomas, last Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Dixon were the guests of Mrs. Dixon’s mother, Mrs. E. C. Jourdan Sun day of last week. Mis4. Ruth Christopher, daugh ter of Rev. and Mrs. N. G. Christopher of Gyrene, was the guest of Miss Henretta Terrell, the latter part of last week. Mrs. R. E. Page and Mrs. A. J. Trulock of Climax, were shoping in town Monday even ing, and while here called on Mrs. R. M. Smallwood. Mrs. T. M. Whigham, accom panied by Miss Clyde, were in town on business the first of the week. Messrs. D. M. and G. W. Jor dan. Joe Swicord, Tom Harrell, H. A. Logue, A. Harrell and D. G. McNair visited Cairo Tuesday evening. The eighteenth of April is not far off, and everybody is singing a little ditty entitled - Vote for Lights the town’s in darkness. Mr. R. A. Thomas returned Sun day evening from Valdosta, where he went to see his brother who has been quite ill since De cember the 29th. We are glad to note at this writing that he is reported to be improving. About “steen” of the young people are quite busily engaged in rehearsing a little four act play which the expect to present to the public ere long. The pro ceeds are to be used in further ing a very woithy cause, and every one is anxious to see them succeed. Miss Gortner, .formely a teach er in the Whigham High School, who returned to her home in Montgomery, Pensylvania a few weeks ago on account of the death of a member of tne family, writes that she will not return to Miss Cora Belcher was in town for a short while last Wednesday. Mrs. Mattie Perkins returned home last Tuesday, after a visit of several weeks spent with her daughter Mrs. Paul Chestnutt at Americus, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Powell of Valdosta, were the guests of Mrs. Powell’s mother, Mrs. J. T. Patterson, Wednesday of last week. Mrs. Mizell, formely Miss Nel lie Butler, arrived last week fri m Wasiiingion J). C. where she has lived since her marriage, and is the guest of her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Butler* Col.- M. L. Ledford, one of the legal lights of Cairo was here last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Allen, of Cli max, was here for a few hours Wednesday of last week. Col. S. P. Mr. Logan’s Auto Exchange, was in Cairo last Thursday after noon. Mr. Logan now has the Ford agency for Grady county and is advertising those celebrat ed cars in this paper. Buster Brown Draws Crowd The open air performance giv en by Buster Brown and his dog Tige, last Friday, was greatly enjoyed by a large audience of grown people and children. Bnster Brown is 53 years old and only fortv seven inches high and is a past master in the art of entertaining. His wholesome jokes and stories, and the antics of the very inteligent and edu cated dog Tige, kept the crowd laughing for about two hours. Buster and Tige were the faci- mile of the famous funny paper characters and will be long re membered by the little folks who were fortunate enough to witness the performance. The entertainment wa given by the Brown Shoe Co. of St Louis, in front of the store of their local represntative, J. H. Autry. SHERIFF SALE GE0RG1A: —Cnady County. Everybody will have ample time and opportunity to make their returns, in person, except the decrepit and non-resi- ident, who nre excused from ap pearing in person, by the 20th of June, which time the law requires the books to close.
