NOTICE OF ELECTION.
Georgia, Grady countv.
To Whom it may' Concern, and
to the Legal Voters of Whighani:
You are hereby notified thore”
Will be an Election hold in accord
ance with the following ordinances,
towit:
An Ordinance for Electric Lights
Bonds, and for Water Works
improvements Bonds
Ifow therefore be it ordained and
it is hereby ordained by the author
ity by the Mayor and Council, That
there shall be an Election held in
the Town Hall, the Hamo being the
■only place where elections are held
for Mayor and Council on the 15th
day of July 1913, for the purpose to
determine whether there shall be or
not be a bond issue in the sum of
$6,000.00 for the purpose to estab
lish and erect an Electric Light
Plant and System for the Town of
Whigham, that said Bonds shall be
of the denomination of $375.00
each and sixteen in number, that
said Bonds shall draw interest at
the rate of Six per cent per annum.
All interest shall be paid an
nually, beginning on the 1st day of
January 1914, and annually there
after, and there shall be One Bond
of the denomination of 6375.00 paid
annually beginning on the 1st day
of January 1917, and annually
thereafter until all Sixteen Bonds
shall be paid off in full on the 1st
day'of January 1933, all of which
shall be paid in lawful money of the
United States at any Bank in At
lanta, Georgia.
And the same Election shall be
held for the purpose to determine
whether there shall be or not be a
Bond issue for the sum of $2,000.00.
For the purpose of Improving and
Bepairing the Water Works Sys
tem now in use by the Town of
Whigham so as to operate the Wa-
.ter Works and Electric Light plant
together. That said Bonds shall be
of the denomination of $125.00
each and Sixteen in numbor, that
said Bonds shall draw interest at
the rate of Six per cent per annum.
All interest shall be paid annually
• beginning on the 1st day of Janu
ary 1914 and annually thereafter,
and there shall be One Bond of the
denomination of $125.00 paid an
nually beginning on the 1st day of
January 1917, and annually there
after until all the Sixteen Eonds
shall be paid off in full on the 1st
day of January 1933, all of which
• shall be paid in lawful money of
the United States at any Bank in
Atlanta, Georgia.
Be it further ordained by the
Mayor and Council that the election
shall be held on the 15th day oi
July 1913, by Three Free Holders
of said Town as Managers in the
Town Hall the only place where the
Elections are held for Mayor and
Council of the Town. That said
Managers shall open, said' Election
fop vo.ing at 9 o’clock A. M. and
; shall closo tho same at 3 o’clock l’.

of the Town of Whigham shall be
entitled to vole in said Election,
That all voters shall have.on their
Tickets these words, “FOR ELEC
TRIC LIGI ITS; B O N D S O R
AGAINST ELECTRIC LIGHT
BONDS.” And shall vote for or
■against these Bonds, also at the
same time and place and at the
same Election shall have these
words oft their Tickets, “10R
WATER .WORKS BONDS” or
“AGAINST WATER WORKS
BONDS” and shall vote lor or
against those Bonds. That the
Managors of said Election with tho
Mayor and Council togothor shall
consolidate tho votes ftt paid elec
tion and docluro tho results, and
should the results declared bo tho
reqnirod-two-thirds as fixed by law
in favor of the bond issue for Elec-
.trie Light Bonds, then those bonds
shall be and is hereby authorized
to issue as heretofore set out,
And should tho results declared
bo the required two-thirds ns fixed
by law in favor of the bond issue for county:
Water Works Bonds then those
bonds shall be .and is hereby auth
orized to issue ns heretofore set out,
Be it further ordained by the
Mny^r and Council and the same is
hereby or^ijuped, that the Mayor be

Electing fo.be held in conformity
With tins- Ordinance,
Be it further onloincd by the
authority aforesaid, that all Ordi
nances and parts of Ordinances in
conflict with this Ordinance be and
the same arc hereby repealed, and
all former ordinances passed in rela
tion to Bond Elections are horeb,’
repealed.
You will take due notice and be
governed accordingly. This June

petitioners ask to he incorporated is
twenty (20) years, with privilege
of renewal at the end of that time;

to buy, rent, lease and operate saw
mills; to buy and sell ties, to rent
and purchase land and timber for
that purpose; to give and take notes
and mortgages, to borrow arid loan
money, to make contracts and to do
all usual, proper and necessary
acts as shall be necessary to the suc
cessful operation of such business;
NINTH—Thev desire for said
corporation the power and authori
ty to apply for and accept amend
merits to its charter by a vote of a
majority of its stock outstanding at
the time. They also ask authority
for said corporation to wind up its
aftail's, liquidate and discontinue
its business at any time it may.de
termine to do so by a vote of a maj
ority of it» stock outstanding at the
time.

Notice Of Election To
Consolidate Schools
Whereas, at the last mooting of
the Board of Education of Grady
county, there was presented to said
Board a petition asking for the con
solidation of Golden Rod and
Woodland schools, and
Whereas, at said meeting of the
Board of Education there wore as
many as 10 interested persons ob
jecting to said consolidation making
it necessary to submit the matter to
the voters of the two districts as
required by law.
It is ordered, that an election be
held at Woodland school house, on
Saturday, July 12, 1913 from 9 to
12 o’clock, A. M. for the purpose
of deciding the matter of consoli
dation of the fwo schools." All vot
ers residing in the territory now
embraced in the Woodland and
Golden Rod school districts, and
who are duly qualified to vote in
state and county elections are en.-
titled to vote in this election. All
parties desiring to vote for consoli
dation shall east their ballots
marked “FOR CONSOLIDATION”
and those,desiring to vote against
consolidation shall have their bal
lots marked “AGAINST CONSOL
IDATION”.
