Newspapers
Reach All
Consumers
All The Time
An advertiser wanted to find
out for himself what medium
reached the class of people he
sought as customers.
He sent out this inquiry to a
selected list: If you had to dis
card all publications you tre
reading—except one—what would
you keep?
The answer in each case was-
“Our weekly newspaper—-the of
ficial organ.
Every man, woman and
child in America who can
read at all is a newspaper
reader.
The home which the news
paper does not enter is a rar
ity. Such a home is hardly a
trade prospect.
N ewspaper readers look up
on the PROGRESS as their .
trusted friend and are guided
by its opinions.
They seek its advertising
columns for information at the
time they are prepared to buy
f and the advertiser comes . to
them properly introduced..
.« Newspaper advertising creates a'
. direct and immediate demand. This
is why the retail dealer is enthusiastic
over advertised products. The re
tailer knows that the manufacturers'
. advertising will send customers to his
store the day it appears and he push
es newspaper advertised goods be
cause it pays him.
The PROGRESS is in direct line
•from production to demand. It pays
full returns and pays them without
;any long waiting.

The Truth About Hair Tonics
The other dav a whimsical sort
of chap said: “If I could have
one wish granted it would be
this—to have my whiskers on
top of my head and be bald on
my face and neck.”
Rather a good idea, that. And
now you will know we are going
to say something about, hair ton
ics. - But we’ll not say whai
you expect us to.
Any man who believes there u
a remedy on earth that willgrow
hair on polished sculp is going to
b i disappointed.
What we clairri for Penslar
Hair Tonic is that it is a mighty
good thing to save the hair that
is left. It stops dandruff—keeps
it away if you keep vour scalp
clean and don’t reinfect it by us
ing a comb or brush that is teem
ing with dandruff germs,
Stopping the dandruff genet
ally means slopping the loss of
hair. Ws firmly believe that
