for otucr purposes.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Clou-
oral Assembly of tho State of Cleorgia,
tbnt-ovory parent, guardian or other
person having charge and control of a
child between the nges of eight and four
teen years, who is net exempted or ex
cused ns hereinafter provided, shall cause
t le said child to ho enrolled in nud to
attend cbntinuouHly fiir four months of

or of tho city or town in which the child
resides; which period of at tendance shall
commence nt. the beginning of the first

and fourteen are instructed, to keep 'an
accurate record of tlie attendance of such
pupils, and at tlie end of each; month to
make a written report of the same to the
Board of Education having supervision
of the school, and to note therein excuses
