Joe Hill” is speaking out it leaves
room to question whether it will
not bo cheaper than to over come
Ins filibustering tactics in the next
session. Georgia needs anil wants
better laws on the whiskey qiifis-
tion and if there is something belt
er to be had we say let us have it,
the sooner the better.
Whenever there is, a general need
that becomes widely recognized
and discussed tljere usually follows
some crystalization of effort that
brings the sought for result.
There is a very clear need for the
Altumahn bridge' opening up south
west Georghi to Savannah the
agitation of the need is becoming
general and-insistent so we shall
expect Very soon to see some plan
put in oppcralion that shall result
in the building of the bridge.

possible.
Without any intention of offer

to.sce the School and Civic im
provement Club give one year of
work to' a campaign for better
rural homes. To begin with we
would love to sec them get Mrs.
G. H. Mathis the Alabama apostle
of better farming to come here and
make an address. She has vision
enough nnd vim enough to wake
up any county that will listen to
her.
What will Grady county do with
the cattle tick this year? A great
many people will not agree with
the statement, hut it is really of
more importance to the devclope-
ment of the county than is what
we do with the boll weevil.
It may not ho just the wisest
thing to do to call an extra session
of the legislature , to provide a

In view of iho fact that the
appointment of-.Judge Park as
Federal Judge dgily grows more
probable, there is already beginning
to ho mention of the possible
successors of Judge Parkin Con
gress. Among those that have
been mentioned is our own Col.
R. C. Bell, and in ease of -the
vacancy occurmg we sincerly hope
thnt he will enter actively into a
campaign for the place. Mr. Bell
is young, aggressive,, clean, brilli
ant and popular and would make
an ideal congressman and it will
afford the Progress particular
pleasure to support hiih for the
place should circumstances bring
about the opportunity.
