In various parts of the state the people at the corners of two or more large counties are pre paring to make a change in the constitution of the state m or der that new counties may be laid off from these large coun ties where they thus corner. And Cairo is in the midst of a section that needs just such knifing. To take a slice off of Decatur and another from Thom as would give us a jam-up little county with plenty of area and make Cairo the county seat would suit the people ot the tion to a T, as it would bring the county saat nearer by. There is no telling whai may be done until a thing is tried and the First thing to be done is amend the constitution to effect. Then the matter of new county with Cairo as county seat could be with a resonable degree of cess. Some people seem to think an easy job to scorch a through the columns of a paper—and perhaps it would if that were all. But hard appear harder in cold type otherwise and it won’t do time to say in cold lead one can say off in a quiet alone. So remember if want anybody “cussed U ’em yourself; the Messenger can’t afford to do it for you. New Georgia Industries. The following new are reported for the state the past week: Columbus—Paper box ry; $10,000 brick works. West Point—$40,000 mill. Macon—$10,000 brick Atlanta—$10,000 and bottling company. Your Mother. j A father talking to his daughter said: “I want to j speak to you of your mother, I ! I want you to get up tomorrow morning and get the breakfast, and when your mother comes and begins to ex press her surprise, go right up to her and kiss her. You can’t imagine how it will brighten her dear face. Besides you owe her a kiss or two. Away back when you were a little girl she kissed you when no one else was tempt ed by your feaver tainted breath and swolen face. You were not as attractive then as you are now. And through those years of child ish sunshine and shadow, she was ready to cure by the mag ic ot a mother’s kiss the little dirty, chubby hands whenever they were injured in those first skirmishes with the rough world. And then the midnight kiss with which she routed so many bad dreams as she leaned over restless pillow have been on in terest these long, long years. Of course she is not so and kissable as you are, but if vou had done your share of work during the last ten the contrast would not be marked. Her face has wrinkles than yours, yet if were sick that face would more beautiful than an as it hovered over you, ing every opportunity to ter to your comfort, and one of these wrinkles seem to be bright wavelets sunshine chasing each other the dear face. She will you one of these days. burdens if not lifted from shoulder will break her Those rough, hard hands have done so many things for you will be upon her lifeless breast. neglected lips that gave your first baby kiss will be ever closed and those sad eyes will have opened in ty and then you will your mother; but it will be late.”—Gainsville Sun. All this will apply to and the sooner we get a school building the better will be.
