Democrats of Georgia Take Action at
State Convention in Atlanta.
Delegates Will Vote as a
Unit for New Yorker
So Long as His
Name is Up.
The Georgia state democratic con
vention was held in Atlanta Wednes
day. Governor Terrell was nominated
to succeed himself for a term of two
years, as were all the present state
house officers as their own successors,
nominated judges and solicitors gen
eral of the various circuits, elected
four delegates at large and twenty
two district delegates to the national
democratic convention at St. Louis, in
structed this delegation to cast its
vote as a unit for Judge Alton B. Par
her, of New York, as the democratic
candidate for president; nominated
thirteen electors for president and
vice president, elected new state ex
ecutive committee and adjourned af
ter a hard day’s work.
By the resolutions adopted, the par
ty in Georgia serves notice upon the
country that so long as there is a
reasonable hope of the nomination of
Judge Parker, the twenty-six delegates
who represent them will be found
working and voting for him. There
is no doubt, no equivocation, in the
Georgia position. It is Parker first
find Parker just as long as there is
a chance for him. and the democrats
of the state hope for his nomination.
