THE CAIRO MESSENGER. FRIDAY, MARCH 19TH, 1943.
Number ‘Messengers’
Thought Lost In Mail
Belief was expressed this
week that a large mail-bag full
of Cairo Messengers of the
March 5th issue have been lost
in the mails.
i
A large number of complaints
have been received by the pub
lishers from subscribers who
said they did not receive that
issue. All were from subscrib
ers whose papers could have
been dispatched in a bag for
Montgomery - Waycross Train
No. 58 for Florida and other
Atlantic states points. Most of
the subscribers requested an
extra copy but extra copies
were not available in view of
the number of such requests. It
has been established that the j
papers all left The Messenger
office as usual but investigation
beyond that doubtless would be
useless.
If the bag went astray it
might be found later. The postal
service now has much inexper
ienced help just as many agen
cies and businesses have and
war conditions are causing
many unusual delays in service .
of all kinds.
Meanwhile, the supply of
March 5th copies of The Mes
senger is exhausted and since
the publishers need some re
placements 5c apiece will be
paid for a limited number of
copies of this issue in good con
dition brought to the office dur
ing the next few days.
