'COMMITTEE! Wc find, that
cent work on the plumbing, and
a new roof on the main building,
have put the Courthouse in much
better condition than has been
AmoS^ml^^^epahr^ desirable, 6
iprovements especially
i and which we recommend be at
tended to as soon as oircumstan
ces make possible are (1) Repair
of leaks in roof of tower and sky
lights, and replacement of panes
of glasses to prevent water dam-
1 age which is taking place in spots;
(2) repairs in toilets, damaged
spots in the composition flooring
in courtroom, and of the several
fireplaces that are badly burned
out; and (3) the painting of dark
ceilings in some offices to im
prove lighting conditions, and the
painting over of spots that are
unsightly from past water stain
ing. Our inspeotiofis revealed
several rooms thiait could be put
in condition for offices or stor
age of records at little expense,
and we recommend that this be
considered in lieu of rental of out
side office space. We commend
Mr. Whidden, the Courthouse
keeper, for his faithful service in
keeping portions of the building
used by the public in clean and
sanitary condition. Additional re
commendations relating to the
Courthouse are contained in the
General Presentments. H. L. Stod
