Mr. William Cody Connell
passed away at his home on route
1, Whigham, at 6:30 a. m. Mon¬
day, March 14, following a short
illness of only a few hours.
The funeral service was held
at the Chapel of Forsyth-Bear
den Funeral Home at 3 o’clock
Wednesday afternoon with the
Rev. N. G. Christopher in charge.
Interment followed in the Cairo
cemetery.

Mr. Connell was born in Grady
county on Oct. 26 1885, the son
of the late Berry Anderson and
Gertrude Connell. His wife, the
farmer Miss Gaina Hurst, died
cn June 18, 1946.
The deceased spent his entire
life in this county engaged as
a farmer. He was well known
in farm circles and in civic af
fairs in his neighborhood,

C. Y. Connell and Anderson B.
Connell, Cairo, Joyce Connell,
Whigham, and Jack L. Connell,
Albany; four daughters, Mrs. R.

home in this county at Pine
Park and Cairo.
He was a member of the Cairo
Methodist Church and lived a
consistent Christian life; his vir¬
tues shone brightly in his home
and community. In his active
life he was a school teacher.
His survivors are: his widow,!
Mrs. Roy Robertson, Cairo; two
sons, Roy M. Robertson, Jr., Cairo,
and Alonzo Robertson, U. S. Navy,
San Diego, Calif.; two daughters,
Misses Lutheria and Betty Rob
ertson, Cairo; three brothers Hag
good and Jim Robertson, Carroll¬
ton, and Willie Robertson, Bre¬
men; and one sister, Mrs. J. W.

ed by 11 o’clock; competent wel
known women have been secur¬
ed to serve in this capacity.
The public is invited to see the
show from 12 to 2:30 o’clock. The
displays will also be open to all
who attend the Northside P. T.
A. meeting on Tuesday night at
8 o’clock.
Ribbons will be given for the
best entries; accompanying each
libbon will be a theater ticket or
a candy bar.
This is the first pansy show to
be undertaken by the Northside
P. T. A., if successful it will pro¬
bably be an annual occasion.
Approximately 17000 pansy
plants were sold through the
students of the Northside School
in the fall, consequnetly the show
