TOM THUMB WEDDING
NEXT TUESDAY NIGHT.—
The Northside P. T. A. will pre
sent a Tom Thumb Wedding at
the high school auditorium next
Tuesday evening, September 20,
at 8 o’clock.
The wedding will be directed
by a committee from the P. T. A.
assisted by Mrs. R. L. VanLand
ingham; Mrs. ' Harris Jefferson
will play the nuptial music.
The admission will be 25c for
children and 50c for adults.

dist Church in Moultrie, with the
R ev. Roy McTier officiating using
the ring ceremony.
The bride was lovely in a
powder blue dress with navy ac
cessories; pink carnations formed
her corsage.
After the ceremony the couple
left fora wedding trip to points
in Florida; they are now making
their home at 102 First St., S. W.,
Moultrie; Mr. James is employed
there with the Riverside Bedding

and Dan Brock of Decatur County
has many relatives and

MRS. BROCK HONORS
RECENT BRIDE—
Mrs. Don Ruppell, the former
Miss Marie Hudson, was honored
at a bridal shower on Thursday
afternoon at the home of Mrs.
Eulie Brock,
Mrs. Melvin Harrell and Miss
Mary Walthall were the winners
of the games played.
The gifts were opened and dis
played on a table in the living
room, after which refreshments
were served. Mrs. Bob Hender
son assisted in serving.
Everyone enjoyed the afternoon
with Mrs. Ruppell.
Mr. and Mrs. Ruppell are now
making their home in Toledo,
Ohio.
PRESBYTERIAN SERVICE
SUNDAY MORNING.—
Dr. H. Leech, of Tallahassee,
Fla., is giving a series of sermons
on the Bible at the regular Sun
day morning services at the Pres
byterian Church; last Sunday his
subject, “How the Bible Came to
Us”, was presented in an interest
ing form. His theme next Sun
day morning, September 18, will
be: “Is the Bible the Word of
God.”
The Rev. Harcourt E. Waller, of
Bainbvidge, will be in charge of
the evening service at 7:30
o’clock.
EASTERN STAR TO HAVE
COVERED-DISH SUPPER.—
Next Monday night, September
19, at 7 o’clock the Cairo Order
of the Eastern Star will have a
covered-dish supper at the Lodge
Hall; at 8 o’clock the regular
meeting will be held.
All members are cordially invit
ed to be present.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Massey and
Shirley, of Miccosukie, Fla., spent
Sunday here as guests of Mr. and

The Grady County Board of
Education held its monthly meet

county might be able to do some
thing for school buildings through
