sister, Mrs. Jim Norman and the
family, Sunday.
The friends of Mr. A. J. Cox
will be pleased to learn he is do
ing nicely after an appendectomy
at the Grady County Hospital on
Friday afternoon.
Miss Grace Davis, of Graceville,
Fla., visited her mother, Mrs.
Grady Davis and family, Sunday.
Miss Ruth Kelly spent the
weekend with her sister, Mrs. W.
G. Lawrence and family, at
Camilla.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Newberry,
of Whigham, visited her mother,
Mrs. J. I. Harrell, Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Humphries
and children, were guests of Mr.
and Mrs. R. E. Arline, Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Cable and

Mrs. Dan Fowler will leave for
Seattle, Washington on Thursday
i by plane. She will stop for a
visit with her sister, Mrs. Frank
Baugh and family at Houston,
Texas. The last of this month
she will sail for Japan to be with
her husband, Sgt. Dan Fowler.
Her many friends express their
wishes for a pleasant trip. She
will be remembered as miss Mary
Frances Davis.
Mr. M. L. Williams was a visitor
to Athens, Ga., the first of the
week.
B. T. U'S MEET AT
MT. VERNON CHURCH.—
The quarterly meeting of the
B. T. U.’s of the Grady County
Baptist Association was held at
Mount Vernon Church on Tues
day, September 6, at 8 p. m.
Mr. Braxton Collins, association
director, presided at the meeting.
Rev. R. C. Perry brought the
inspirational message.
An open discussion on different
departments and activities proved
very beneficial.
A nominating committee was
appointed to nominate officers for
the next year at the meeting in
the early part of December which
will be held with the First Church
in Cairo.
Five churches were represent
ed.
