Cairo Pee Wees
Beaten 14-6 By
Thomasville
The Cairo Pee Wee Football
composed of players from
the teams of North and South
side schools traveled to Thomas
ville, Tuesday, November 15th
and were defeated by the Thomas
ville Pee Wee’s 15-6.
On the opening play Thomas
ville kicked off to Cairo and punt
was taken by Bobby Walden,
right half-back for Cairo, who
traveled the entire distance of
sixty-five yards for a touchdown.
The Cairo lads gave Bobby excel
lent blocking all the way.
Powell’s try for extra point fail
ed. Cairo then kicked off to
Thomasville and on a series of
plays Bishop went over for a
touchdown from the five yard
line. Howard’s pass to Smith was
good for the extra point. Play
was about even for the second
and third quarters with no scor
ing by either side and in the last
quarter a twenty yard pass by
Thomasville resulted in another
touchdown and a pass was good
for the extra point. Both lines
were about even and Powell of
Cairo and Hasty of Thomasville
did an excellent job on line back
ing.
