committee or some adult
designated by the committee
—but the moisture content checks
as a supplement to the yield
checks were eliminated. Com
plete crop data must be kept
by the youths as heretofore for
contestants to be considered for
awards. Since hybrid seed corn
will be made available to all con
testants, if desired, by Greenwood
Plantation hybrid seen corn pro
ject, the committee plans to in
sist that contestants provide for
accurate yield checks during the
period specified. The contest reg
ulations and complete data there
on will be made public shortly,

Community Club In
Whigham Hear Cairo
Speakers Monday
County agent George and As
sistant Agent Harold Daniels were
guest speakers at the regular
meeting and supper of the Whig
ham Community Club last Mon
day night. About 75 were pres
ent, including members’ wives
and two other guests each, most
of whom were residents of Whig
ham or near-by. Other guests
from Cairo included Clayton
Baker, Leland Harrison, and Miss
Myrtle Walters.
Guests were presented by Carl
Ponder, President of the Grady
County Farm Bureau and mem
ber of the club. The speakers
were introduced by Joe D. Lewis,
who was presented by Club presi
dent G. B. Trulock.
Agriculture was the theme of
the program. Mr. George- and
Mr. Daniels discussed the acti
vities carried on by the county
agent, the services to the farm
ers, the effort and program to
raise crop yields, control insects
and diseases, and the general im
provement of the farmer’s living
conditions.
Mr. Daniels outlined the im
portant 4-H and FFA activities
I for farm youth, and emphasized
the aim of these clubs were
all-around development -of
