PrcpsrMi fat a Great Revival. -- tallow C i aitd Fiicadi: ij Your attcnri'V.i U called to tho ,: i»t«»a Wwln-ttlay night. April st ii s of . . i,;.’ so’vkN’-i bc-'in I Our ai a i* twofold: first tin- comer sion of souls to the Kingdom of and,* secoddlv, the building up be Sievers in holiness. First. We want your interest in the work. We want to feel, w laboring for the extention of Kingdom that our hands are upheld 1,V vour encouragement, and our ‘ ; . hcaris strengthened . ,. by your syinpa j thy. If we can know that the church (all denominations), stand by us, cheer us on, and feel i.s.-lf one with us, we can goon cheer fully with the great work. We therefore appeal to you for more than a mere feeling ot contentment and willingness to see others toiling; more than simple satisfaction at progress of the church in souls; more than a general vague desire for revival in the membership j and conversions from the world. \\ e | P lead for vo " r hcal t - v ’ salons, eager . interest in the work—we want you to realize that the church is yours; that its advancement is your pro gress, and its triumph is your lejoic ing. More still, we want yon to feel heavily upon your heart a burden for souls, a deep, earnest, longing, that cannot rest until souls arc won und-AJod'a work is revived. This interest and nothing less,' the cause demands from your • hearts—will you give it? Secondly. We request vour heartv co opmilion in the WOik . We claim you not merely as a sympathizing friend, but a fellow worker. Give to ourcansc, which is yours as well, the silent influence of your life and your active service. Talk about the meet ings (not the preachers and your neighbors.) in your families, cncour age and urge all who are old enough lo attend, and pave their way by your own example. Seek an oppor¬ tunity of meeting your friends, aud all with whom you have any social relations, and extend to them an in vitation to accompany you to the set vices; call upon your neighbors and bid them come / Xe „ vou , Mlow workers in the shops, vour school niates A . the .. schoolroom, , m your ac . tan the , streets, nu a in ces upon vour cu8t0mcrg at . yom . counter8) j- 0IIr ( .| er | tw niid eniploj'ca, of i1m$ work, that is to be done and welcome them to share its benefits. Chris Inn soldier, lay seite to some soul and conquer i: for your Lord Do your work hearti ly, with cheerful countetuuice and kindly words, with all the tact and * 'b J' 011 poscss —but ijo r? You may not fielquaified to take active or lieroic part in the public nteeti gs; but here is a wo.k that everybody can do. None are too old, none are to, joueg. none are too feeble to lead one soul where God’s spirit can reach it. and where Christ's biood can wash it. Many are the great and eloquent di¬ vines preaching in public now moving whole kingdoms and nations, who were led to the Saviour-by Someone whose voice has never been heard in the pulpit, or public assemb y. Per Imps your act of bringing a soul to Christ may help to spread the story of salvation over all the earth. We appeal to you then to help us in our effort for revival—will you do it? Third y, We request jour presence in all th“ meetings. Just to the degree in which the members of the churches stand at (heir posts of. duty during the harvest of souls will. be benefit* obtained. If every name upon the rolU.be'rep resented by a willing wotker how glorious will be the success-,■ bow rich the ingathering! If the memb rs fail to readze their individual responsibilt ty, how meager will be the harvest! an( ] w j,y should the responsibility rest upon one more than upon another? i All have been bought* with the same blood, all adopted into the same broth¬ erhood; all privileged to possess the same a tendance in grace. Think brother, sister, have you any nght to , neglect your part, and at, the same time expect another to fulfil his? Come then to all the meetings, not if convenient, but if possible. Has God ever done.anything for you? Iliiuk-a moment—review the past. If be has then under obligations to come 1 you are a’nd work and pray. But if God has never bestowed a single blessing upon | in all youi lire, then you are e x- j empled and therefore excusable! Your presence is your duty; and it w ni give us greater help than you sup pose. It will encourage and strength-1 in our labors. Your voice will 1 en us swell will bear the chores the of song, your your heart, faith j up prayer, will respond to the exl.ortion, vour ; prayer will bring pardon to some • weeping sou!.
