CASTORIA
Castoria is Dr. Samuel Pitcher’s prescription for Infants
nn<l Children. It contains neither Opium, Morphine nor
other Narcotic substance. It is a harmless substitute
for Paregoric, Drops, Soothing Syrups, and Castor Oil.
It is Pleasant. Its guarantee is thirty years’ use by
Millions of Mothers. Castoria destroys Worms and allays
feverishness. Castoria prevents vomiting Sour Curd,
cures Diarrhoea and Wind Colic. Castoria relieves
teething troubles, cures constipation and flatulency.
Castoria assimilates the food, regulates the stomach
and bowels, giving healthy and natural sleep. Cas
toria is the Children’s Panacea—the Mother’s Friend.
Castoria.
" Castoria is an excellent medicine for chil
dren. Mothers have repeatedly told me of its
good effect upon their children.”
Dr. G. C. Oftooon,
Lowell, Mass.
M Castoria is the best remedy for children of
which lam acquainted. I hope the day is not
far distant when mother* w'ill consider the
real interest of their children, and use Castoria
instead of the various quack nostrums which
are destroying their loved ones, by forcing
opium, morphine, soothing syrup and other
hurtful agents down their throats, thereby
sending them to premature graves.”

Why is it te it the ioil clods more in the
latter part of M iroh and fhe first to the
middle of Auril than iu auv other g 0...
son of the year aid bakes less and le»s
as the summer advances?
Answkk There are more clods
because we are preparing the ground
at that time for planting, and
we plough as deep as possible, bringing
np some day to the surface. This clay
then is very apt to bake and form
clods, until broken np by the action of
the atmosphere and futnre plowings or
harrowings. Another reason is that,
in onr haste to get ready for plantini
we are apt to plow the ground in th 9
spring when it is a little too wet, and
this causes clods on the surface.
Ido not agree with yon that the
ground bakes "less and less as the sum
mer advances.” I think if we plowed
as dnep in the summer, and when the
ground was wot, and turned up the
clay as we do iu the spring, wo would
have just as many clods and just as
mnch baking of the soil. In other
words, our shallow plowing in culti
vating crops cannot result in cloddy
land, such as is brought about fri*
quently by deep spring plowing.

Mr. Hutchinson to day, and his story is
here given in his own words.
“ My back ached continually and my leg*
