any one can find a way of improving; and these simple
inventions are the ones that bring largest returns to the
author. Try to think of something to invent.
* IT IS NOT SO HARD AS IT SEE,MS.
Patents taken out through us receive special notice in
the " National Recorder, published at Washington,
D. C. t which is the DestnewspaDer published in America

Six weeks ago I suffered with a very
severe cold ; was almost unable to
speak. My friends all advised me to
consult a physician. Noticing Cham

the St. Paul Volks Zeitung I procured
a bottle, and after taking it a short
while was entirely well. I now most
heartily recommend this remedy to any

How to Prevent Croup.
SOME READING THAT WILL PROVE
INTERESTING TO YODNG MOTHERS.
HOWTO GUARD AGAINST 'THE DIS
EASE.
Croup is a terror to youug mothers
and to post them concerning the cause
first symptoms and treatment is the
object of this item. The origin of
crou£ is a c<mmon cold. Children
who are subject to it take cold very
easily and croup is almost sure to fol
low. The first symptom is hoarseness;
this is soon followed by a peculiar
rough cough, which is easily recogniz
ed and will uever be forgotten by one
who has heard it. The time to act is
when the child fiist becomes hoarse.
If Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy is
freely given all tendency to croup will
soon disappear. liven after the croupy
cough has developed it will prevent tLe
attack. There is no danger iu giving
this remedy for it contains nothing in
jurious. For sale by medicine dealers.

Catarrh cau be successfully treated
only by purifying the blood and
the one true blood purifier is
Hood’s .Sarsaparilla.
Not Unreasonable.
Ethel, who had lately been blessed
ed with a baby sister, said to her moth
er one day :
“I wish I had a uew doll.”
“A new doll r” said her rnoiher.
“Why, your old doll is as good as
ever.’’
“Well,” answered the little lady,
“so am I just as good as ever, hut the
angels gave you a new baby.”—Ex

An lmportunt Office.
To properly fill its office and func
tions, it is important that the blood be
pure. When it is iu such a condition,
the body is almost certain to be healthy
A complaint at this time is catarrh in
some of its various forms. A slight
cold develops the disease iu the head.
Dropping of corruption passing into
the lungs brings on cosumption. The
ouly way to cure this disease is to pur
ify the blood. The most obstinate cas
es of catarrh yield to the medicinal
powers of Hood’s Sarsaparilla as if
by magic, simply because it reaches
the seat of the disease, by purify
ing and vitalizing the blood, removes
the cause. Not ouly does Hood’s
Sarsaparilla do this but it give renewed
vigor to the whole system, making it
possible for good health to reign su
preme.

It would cost too much to work them
