“I would not be d ung justice to the
worthy men should I fail to call atten

to the two members of that Legislature
who did not belong to our party, who,
whilst they claimed no allegiance to
Democracy, asserted and proved by

true Americans; true Kentuckians, and
stood by tho interest and welfare of
the people. To those two Populists
Kentucky is tonight indebted for the

How blest the righteous when she dies,
When sinks u weary soul to rest;
How mildly beam the closing eyes,
How gently heaves the expiring bleast.
So fades a summer cloud away,
So sinks the gale when storms are ore,
So gently shuts the eye of day,
So dies a wave along the shore.
A holy quiet reigns around,
A calm which life nor death destroys,
And naught disturbs that peace propounds,
Which her unfettered soul enjoys.
Life’s labor done as sinks the day
Light from its load the spirit Hies,
When heaven and earth combine to say
How blekt the righteous when blic dies.

A Wonderful Woman.
The Times was shown a letter Wed
uesday received from one of the old
schoolmates of Mrs Alex Atkinson,
who has brth anus off at the shoulders.
Her name is Mrs Ann Leal e Thomson,
aud she has traveled the world over as
a freak in u dime museum having gone,
to all parts of the earth with the circus
ses now t aiding Mrs. Atkinson an 1
Mrs. Leake w re schoolmates together
at Gritfia. ISince her advent into tho
circus business Mrs. Leake married a
man by the name of Thompson, aud
one son has blessed their union. Not
having any liandß, the letter shown us
was written with her toes, the members
of which she has become as proficient
in the use of as any odiuary person
has their bauds. She does embroidery,
sews, writes and eats with her toes, and
the specimen of writing shown The
Times is as good as the chirography
of our book keepers. When Mrs.
Thompsou was engaged to be married,
she states that she wore her wedding
ring on the second too, aud though it
may uot always have been visible, she j
felt just as proud of it as if it had been
displayed upon her finger—which she
didn’t have. Mrs. Tl otnpsou, judging
from her letter, is quite an intelligent
person, and has gained coust lorable
knowledge of foreign countries during
her travels. Mrs. Atkinson treasures
the letter very highly, inasmuch as it
has beeu many years since they last
saw each other.—Jackson Times.
During the winter of 1893, P. M.

I bought a bottle of Chamberlin’s
Cougli Remedy, which relieved me al
most instantly, and in a short time
brought about a complete cure.”
When tiouhied with a cougli or cold

you get relief. It has been in the
