1895 Corn Crop.
The 1895 corn crop of the country
was the largest ever reported. The
low price of wheat as well as cotton iu
1894 induced many farmers to substi
tute corn for these crops in whole or iu
part. All the cotton States report an
unprecedented yield of high quality.
The total crop of the United States and
Territories was 2,121,000 bushels.
The “merchantable proportion” was 1,-
896,706,000 bushels, of an average val
ue of 25 cents, and a total value of
$485,247,000. The unmerchantable
555,433,000 bushels, an 4 an average
value of 15 1-2 cents, and total value
of $39, 339,000. The amount remain
ing iu farmers’ hands : s about 50 per
cent of the t)tal, and more than twice
as much as was so held last year.

This is the yeai for folks to be so
ciabie. The candidates will have to
shake many hands this year.
We ure sorry to hear of .Mr. Hamil
ton's loss last week. The guilty par

burned to a stake.
It does seem to us from tbe amount
of money appropriated by congress to
buy semi that everybody ought at least
get some free seed.

In combination, proportion and
process Hood’s Sarsaparilla is peculiar
to itself, and unequalled iu true merit.
No other medicine evetp possessed so
much curative power, or reached such
enormous sales, or made such won
derful cures, as Hood's Sarsaparilla.
It is undoubtedly the best medicine
ever made to purify, vitalize anil en
rich the blood.
That is the secret of its success.
Head this statement:
“ When my son was 7 years ot age, he
had rheumatic fever and acute rheuma
tism, which settled in his left hip. He
was so sick that no one t bought there was
any help for him. Five Bores broke out
on his thigh, which the doctor said were
Scrofula
sores. AVe had three different doctors.
Pieces of bone came oht of the sores. The
last doctor said the leg would have to be
cut open and the bone scraped, before he
could get well. Howard became so low
that he would eat nothing, and one doc
tor said there was no chance tor him.
“One day, a newspaper recommending
Hood’s Sarsaparilla was left at our door.
We decided to try this medicine. Howard
commenced taking it the last of February,
after having been sick for a year and a
Cured
half. He hadn’t taken it a week before I
saw that his appetite began to improve,
and then he gained rapidly. I gave him
flvo bottles, when the sores were all healed
ard they never broke out again. The
cr . Lies he had used for four years were
laid aside, as he had no further use for
them. I give all the credit to Hood’s Sar
nnarilla.” Mrs. Ada L. Moody, Fay
Street, Lynn, Mass.
