Mr. dtißiguon Speaks.
1100. Fleming G. dußignon filled his
appointment to speak iu McDonough
last Tuesday and the court bouse wa
filled to overflowing with people to hear
him—in fact, the aisles, doors and
steps were crowded, and a number were
unable to enter.
In our judgment it was unquestion
ably the ablest argument on public
issues we ever heard iu Henry c >unty.
and we do not see how any unpreju
diced mind could fail to endorse it.
With thrilling eloquence, earnest
candor, manly beariug, clear and
forcible ex pres lions, he won many
friends here.
11 is demonstration of the necessity
for an absolutely sound and stable
cuirency couid not be clearer and
stronger, and met many expressions of
approval. Lot it be known to the
world, he asserts, that one hundred
cents will not bo paid with fifty one;
and upon this principle confidence
would be restored, relief be at hand
and business made to flow Ireely in
natural channels.
Only those who heard this great
speech can appreciate it, and as com
ment cannot do it justice, we regret it
cannot be published in full.
Such masterly arguments deserve the
careful consideration of every patriotic
citizen of the country.
