New Bank for McDonough.
Ou July Ist The Hank of Henry
County will open its doors for business.
A bank has been peimanently or*,
gani/ed iu McDonough under the
above name. It will be a regular State
bank and will be conducted on tegular
banking principles out and out.
While this bank will be located in
McDonough, yet it is intended for the
convenience and accommodation of
everybody, and the people of Henry
county especially.
lis management insures success from
the start. Messrs. .1. W. Alexander, 1\
W. Pullen, H.J Copeland, Tbos. I).
Stewart and E M. Copeland compose
the board of directors. Its officer* are
Tbos. D. Stewart president, H. J.
Copeland vice president, and K. M
Copeland castiier.
These gentlemen are too well known
to ti ed any comment from us. Suffice
it to say, they arc hound by State
law to the amount of fifty thousand
dollars to protect the bank’s depositors,
so this bank takes rank at the very
start as being one of the solidest. and
safest in the State.
It is proposed to receive deposits
from one dollar up, repayable ou de
mand, without any charge whatevor,
so that our people need take no further
risk of keeping their money at home
where a fire or a thief may rob them
at uny moment of their savings. You
can put it in The Hank of Henry
County and draw it out as you need it,
and it will not cost a cent. The bank
is well protected against fire and burg
lars, but if it should get robbed or de
sttoved by fire or storm, the S ate ol
Georgia say s to Messrs. Alexander,
I’ullen, Stewai t and Copelands tbit
they must lake a loss of fifty thousand
dollars before a single depositor can
lose anything.
The bank will be a great convenience
to our people, and as a home lustftu
lion owned aud managed entirely by
Henry county citizens, it should receive
tlte patronage aud encouragement of
all, lor tbete is nothing more conducive
to prosperity amoug the people of any
community thau a well managed bank
It is au equalizer and distributor ol
money all the time, receiving it from
those who do not need it at the time,
aud lotting those have it who do need
it—the bank being responsible to one
ami taking the risk on the other.
Here's success to The Bank of Hen
ry C'ouuty.

As the church b 11s were tolling last

of praise to the King Supreme, the
sad uews that Mrs. Mauley, the beloved j

heard the tolling of the bell that called |
her up to the gathering of the children

While the task of writing an appro

them on her grave as a token of the
high regard J have for her memory.
It was my privilege to have only a
limited acquaintance with Mrs Manley
but be it said to her credit, I never
met with a lady whose affable, pleasant,
ladylike bearings I could more highly
commend. Whatever her shoit com

they were never developed, so lar as 1

career, 1 have not been advised.
1 have have only heard she had
typhoid fever for some length of time,
but never heard of that till since I heard
of her premature death. The beauti

has fallen on her graye. Doubtless
her chief regret in having to answer
the call to put off her mortal tenement
to go up to the giaud May day gather
ing, was the leaving of her precious
little children to the care of others,
who cannot feel for them a loving
mother’s love. We think her angel
wing will be plumed to flit from the
pearly gate, back to her late home to
catch the mo urnful cry of her infant
and wufL it away, beyond the clime of
motherless orphanage. Over in that

No other medicine ever possessed so
much curative power, or reached such
enormous sales, or made such won
derful cures, as Hood’s Sarsaparilla.
It is undoubtedly the best medicine
ever made to purify, vitalize and en
rich the blood.
That is the secret of its success,
ltead this statement:
“When my sou was 7 years of age, ho
had rheumatic (ever and acute rheuma
tism, which settled in his left hip. lie
was so sick that no one thought there was
any help tor him. Five sores broke out
on his thigh, which the doctor said were
Scrofula
sores. Wo had three different doctors.
Pieces ot bone came out of the sores. The
last doctor said the leg would have to be
cut open and the bone scraped, before he
could get well. Howard became so low
that he would eat nothing, and one doc
tor said there was no chance tor him.
“One day, a newspaper recommending
Hood’s Sarsaparilla was left at our door.
We decided to try this medicine. Howard
commenced taking it the ln-:t of February,
after having been sick tor a year anu a

saw that his appetite began to impreve,
and then he gained rapidly. 1 gave him
five bottles, when the sores weroall healed
end ‘hey wver broke out again. The
C’ he had used for four years wore
laid aside, as he had no further use for
