Death of Ike Nipper.
Ike w:is born Sept. 17th, 187. Y
<ii.(l Aug. 29:h, 1896. While it is
kuovvn to every human heiug that there
is au hour appointed in which ihej
must die, this sad hour a'ways brings
sorrow and sadness to our hearts. Ike
being a working Christian, he was at
ail times readv to labor for the cause oi
Christ, for the growth and progress oi
his church and Sabbath School, and
tor the pleasure of Ids many friends
and associates who so frequently gath
ered around him to enjoy bis bright
sunny smiles aud unlimited generosity
Every phase in bis life thoroughly con
vitieed his trieuds aud associates that
he was a true follower of the meek aud
lowly Savior, who weut about doing
good, aud feeling as we do that in hts
death we recognize au afflicting dispen
sation of Providential dealings with us
as a Sabbath School, causing a loss
which we deeply and sorrowfully re
gret.
Therefore be it resolved by Moore’s
School House Sunday School, that in
the midst of this affliction and attend
ing loss it becomes us as Christian
workers to endeavor more to improve
our spiritual conditiou and efficiency
for usefulness, by cultivating in our
selves the commendable qualities and
traits of character so constantly eiem
pjified in the life of Ike Nipper. Al
though we feel this irreparable loss
most keenly, why should we mourn
when he after a brief but well spent
life and repeated straggles with pain
and disease so sweetly rests in peace?
So do not let your heart be over
burdened, since he has made such a
peaceful voyage across the stream of
death. Ike went out on the bark
maimed aud piloted by Him who said
•‘He that believeth in me though he
were dead, yet he shall live again.”
We should rather rejoice that the
struggle of life is over, tha victory won,

and strive by the help of God to meet
him where parting is no more. His is
an Eternal home by the river of life,

Here we "iiv hear a heavy cros-",

Bin there in God’s Eternal day
His hand shall wipe all tears away.

Is contained in a bottle of Hood’s Sar

Its Value Recognizied by Physicians.
As a rule I am opposed to proprie

I have ever used for neuralgia of any

Governor Atkinson.
Those who opposed Governor, At

know what the people of Geogia rjank
of the present stale administraftwii
They must be convinced that they itil
td to make out their case against the
governor. Their leaders attacked him
vigorously aud in some instances sav
agely aud the reply to their assaults
has been given in a majority over 12,-
000 grea’er than that by which Gov
ernor Atkinson was elected (two years
ago. The only possible is
that Governor Atkiusou is stronger
with the people of Georgia now-.U£in

their chief magistrate.
He is justly so.
lie has been tried and not fvjiiid
wanting. He has ful(filed the wpeg
tations of his friends and convinced iße
public that he is an honest, upright/ |ud
capable executive. *ftf»
During the campaign we alluded
the fact that the attacks upon Govqfei
or Atkinson had not been sustljpd
aud predicted that the verdict of fthe
people would vindicate his adminittra
tion. The large majority by whicnjhe
has been elected does no surprise -us.
Il is a deserved tribute to a goveroior
who has served the state well. The
people of Georgia have shown that
they are not to be swayed by appeals
to prejudice aud that they appreciate
faithful public service. They acted on
their sober judgement at last Wednes
day's election and decided to hold »-fast
that which they had found to be Wood
rather than make au experiment. ,
While the result must be exceeding
ly gratifying to Governor Atkinson, it
also gives cause for satisfaction to the
people of the state. It places a , pre
iniuin upon faithful and fearless,’ dis
charge of duty and gives assurance of
a sound aud honest administration cf
the state’s affaire for the next two }• a s.

Atkinson’s vindication is complete
His home county gave him over a

she did not like to be without them.’’
