Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Carmichael
returned to Atlanta last Sunday
night after a week’s visit to Mr.
Carmichael’s parents in the city.

Miss Mayme Tomlinson came up
from Matron Wednesday to visit rel
atives and friends awhile. She is
now with her sister, Mrs. E. F.

Mr. Will Bellah, the clever and
hustling White House farmer, was
in the city last Saturday, returning
home seated in a handsome rocking
chair upon his wagon.
Misses LeVert Pope and Dollie
McKibben, two of Jackson’s most
charming young ladies, were the
guests of Miss Jennie Mae Carmi
chael several days this week.
Mr. C. G. Rape announces him
self a candidate for Coroner this
week. He is a young man of the
highest integrity, worthy, etc., and
doubtless has many friends who
will be glad to support him.
County Conrt attracted a large
crowd Wednesday. Among those
in attendance from the State of
Bcersheba were Messrs. S. P. Hoot
en, J. W. Adair, A. P. Simpson.
Tom Stewart and Judge I. N. Smith.
Mr. Will Knott’s McDonough
friends are pleased to know that he
has been promoted to the agency of
the Central railroad at Griffin. For
some time he has been chief clerk
of the division superintendent at
Rome.
Mr. Frank Turner of Atlanta ami

summoned last Sunday by telegraph
to the bedside of their little nei<x*.

Mrs. Mary Walker returned to
Elberton last Friday after an ex
tended visit to relatives and friend*;
in McDonough. She was accompa
nied by her daughter, Mrs. I. C.
VanDuzer, who came to attend the
Carmichael-Harris nuptials.

The friends of Mr. Jod Bankstorr
Sr. regret to know that he has been
lying critically ill at his home near
town this week. All his children
from a distance have been summon
ed to his bedside and are now with
him, his condition causing grave
anxiety.

by, for sheriff and deputy, which
was delayed this week, will appear
soon. These are two of Henryk
best known citizens, and will make--
a strong team for the office to
which they aspire.
