Cliff McCants, Jim and George
McNut, of this county, caught a
big rattler whose candal nppetidgc
was equipped with sixteen rattles
and a place for another. The
boys improvised a triddle and
saddle for snakey, and Cliff rode
him up to the town hitching post,
and made the serpent sound his
gong. It was not long before the
whole population turned out to
see the Big Works. The sherift
being present the boys had him
to cry the snake off to the highest
bidder. He was knocked off to a
representative of the Atlanta Zoo
for $4.59.

There are thousands of farmers
throughout Georgia who will not
receive 15 cents per day for their
time, effort and capital in trying
to grow cotton. Cows, hogs, and
childrens provide a steady cash in
come —something more than 15
cents a day.

That reminds us, when the

The pesky boll weevil is now
getting his. News comes from all
parts of Coweta County that there
is a new Richmond in the field.
He is (there are lots of ’em) a
big doodle that bores a counter
sunk hole about the size of a half
pint funnel. The unwary boll
weevil, when making his after
noon calls, mounts the crest of
doodles den; his foot slips and
down he goes to the suction hole,
where, he is promptly pulverized.
One observer tells us he has seen
a well patroniz ed mill grind them
up like coffee. The bug that puts
his foot on this treacherous indine
leaves hope behind him.
