Miss Kate Maxwell, of Atlanta, spent Sunday with Mrs. H. B. Carmichael at the Campground. Messrs. Green, Willis and Ed ward Copeland motored to Macon Thursday to visit Mercer Univer sity. Mr. Tom Brown Jr. left Mon day for Carrrollton where he en ters the A&M College of 4th. District. Mr. L. I. Skinner has purchased a new Buick car to facilitate his journeys up and down the land. Mr. William Amis is spending a few days with relatives in Mc- Donough and Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Austin were visitors to Atlanta Sun day. Mrs. Lula Turnipseed is spend ing several days here with rela tives and friends. Mrs. Olis Oglesby, of Atlanta, is spending this here with ieiauves aim menus. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Green, ef Atlanta, have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Green at the Camp ground. Mrs. I. R. Nolan and children, of Macon, were the guest of Mrs. A. M. Nolan during the past week. Messrs Willis and Edward Cope land and Leslie Farris motored to Atlanta, Monday to attend a double header ball game. Mrs. Louise Brown left Monday for Carrollton where she enters upon her duties as teacher in A. & M. College 4th. District. The many friends of Miss Mamie Alexander are glad to know that she is comvalescing. Miss Ruth Durden returned to her home at Summitt Ga. Sunday after a most delightful visit to Misses Irene and Cora Nelson. Mr. George Clayton, of Greens boro, spent the week-end with his niece, Mrs. J. T. Weems. Mrs. A. H. Stone, of Montecello, returned to her home last Satur day after a two weeks visit to her aunt, Mrs. Jennie Farris. Mr. Sterling Price, of Miami Fla., is visiting his sisters. Mes dames T. J. Horton and Clem Hiding. He leaves soon for a motor trip into North Carolina. We are sorrv to learn that Rev. and Mrs. L. D. King were unable to make their motor trip into the Corolinas because of the illness of their little daughter, Anna. They were not able to go further than Atlanta. Bishop Warren A. Candler preached one of his characteristic sermons at the Campground Sun day. His theme was “Refusing Christ” and he made a fearful denunciation of this generation for this great -sin. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Lemon are glad to know that they contemplate taking up their residence again in McDonough early in September, while Mr. Lemon will go back and forth to his business.
