Local Taxation was recently
discussed in this community. The
interest was good and most weru
in favor of the measure.

ington, visited Mr. and Mrs. J.
W. King Sunday last.
Prof. Williamson was the guest
of friends m the community last
week.
Mrs. Emma Spivey and mother,
Mrs. Mary Jarman, of Eatonton,
were the guest of relatives near
Bethany several days last week.
Some of the farmers are sowing
oats.
Dr. Hampshire, of Jackson, fill¬
ed his regular appointment at
Bethany last Sunday.
The gin house just over the line
of Rockdale, owned Maddox and
Baker caught tire last Saturday
evening. The fire was said to
have started from a flint rock in
the gin.
Mr. J. \V. Stephenson, our
county treasurer, was out lust Fri¬
day lookii g after the interests of
his farm near Salem Campground.
Prof. E. G. Martin made a busi¬
ness trip to Atlanta Monday.
