Woodfin Wednesday to attend the
marriage of Miss Lizzie lone Smith
to Mr. Allen Kelly of Maxwell,
Miss Smith has visited here a
number a of times aud won many
friends by her attractive (and gra¬
cious manner.
Dr. L. J. Pharr is having a drug
store built on Johnson streetabove
the hotel. When completed it
will be one of the best equipped
and up-to-date drug store in this
section. The postuffice will occupy
a space in this building and Post
master Hendrix has ordered the
latest improved office parapher¬
nalia.

was scheduled to give a perfor¬

reason failed to co ne. The crowd
nevertheless, did not tail to be
here from early morning till late
in the afternoon the streets were
filled with negroes and many white
people impatiently awaiting the
