All the children that entered

HYMN OF NEW SOUTH.
(Communicaled )
0 New Southland thy future stand
Rests wholly on thy use
Of all thy stores and mines of ores
And wondrous wealth profuse.
Thy cities fair have hopes more
rare
Than those great ones* ot yore;
Thou knowest their deed, ruayest
choose thy seed
Among the best they bore.
Now use thy powers, the fated
hours
Are on thee; array,
They dormant strength and charge
full length
What things oppose thy way.
But in thy quest hold fast the best
The aeons offer thee;
And in thy plan give to each man
The rights which make him free.

SCOTT’S
Emulsion
When you go to a drug store
and ask for Scott's Emulsion
you know what you want; the
man knows you ought to have
It. Don’t be surprised, though,
if you are offered something
also. Wines, cordials, extracts,
etc., of cod liver oil are plenti*
ful but don’t imagine you are
getting cod liver oil when you
taka them. Every year for thirty
years we’ve been increasing
the sales of Scott’s Emulsion.
Why? Because It has always
been better than any substitute
for it.

The Committee Urged
To Secure Pledges.
All the members of the com¬
mittee on subscriptions for the
Agricultural College are urged to
secure every pledge conditioned
on the college being located in
Newton countv that can possibly
be had in their respective districts,
report without fail at the
meeting in the court room at 10
a. m., on the first Tuesday in No
vember.
Citizens who realize the great
value of this college to the county
will not count a subscription to it
a gift, but rather a very paying
investment, and will &eek out
some member of the committee to
pledge a reasonable amount.
Ten cents an acre on the land
j n Newton county would raise
$ 1 Gi 57G, which would practically
insure us the college. The day
the college is voted to Newton
county, land would enhance $1.00
per acre, thus making an invest¬
ment paying 1000 per cent.
