these ladies.
These articles will be offered
at very reasonable prices. Two
of the most beautiful things in
this collection are water color
paintings given by Miss Julia
Swanson ; ane a study in straw¬
berries, and the other in violets.
Miss Swansons pictures are known
far and wide for their artistic
beauty and will doubtless be
among the first articles sold.
The proceeds of this sale will
go townrd paying for the pastori
urn.
Mr. M. E. Parker and Family
Move to Covington.
Mr. M. E. Parker, of Tallessee,
Ala , has moved to Covington. He
has purchased the Brittian place
and will live there. Mr. Parker
is the father of Mr. E. E Parker,
one of our largest dry goods mer¬

At a meeting of the City Execu¬
tive Committee held Dec. 4th, a
white primary election was order¬
ed to be held on Wednesday Dec.
12, 1906 from 12 o’clock noon to
5 o’clock p. in., for the purpose of
nominating a candidate for Mayor
and six candidates for Councilmen
to serve for the year ot 1907. Also
for two members of City School
Board to fill the vacations caused
by the expired terms of R. R Fow¬
ler and N. Z. Anderson. Also for
one member of the School Board
to fill the unexpired term of J. G.
Lester, resigned, whose term would
j have expired Dec. 1907. All white
citizens duly qualified to vote and j
! registered, are entitled to vote in |
