successors and assigns, respectfully shows :
1st.
That they desire for themselves, tfteir
associates and assigns to become uicorpo
rated under the laws of this State, under
the name and style of the
COVINGTON CHAIR COMPANY.
2nd.
The term for which the petitioners ask
to be incorporated is twenty years with
the privilege of renewal at the end of that
time.
3 rd.
The capital stock of said corporation is
to be FIEt’EEN THOUSAND DOLLARS
to be divided into shares of One Hundred
Dollars each. The petitioners however
ask the privilege of increasing said capital
stock at any time by voice of the stockhol¬
ders to FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS,
which capital may be paid either in money
nr in property, a* the directors may pre¬
scribe.

The petitioners desire the right to begin
operation as soon as fifty per cent of the
capital stock has been actually paid in.

The object of the proposed corporation
is to build, equip, and operate a chair and
furniture tactory, and carry on such work
as may be to the interest of a wood work¬
ing establishment. They ask for the privi¬
leges and powers that are necessary for

ness of said corporation shall be Coving¬
ton, Ga., with the privilege of establishing

Notice, of Election.
COVINGTON, GA., Dec. 18, 1906
TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF
THE CITY OF COVINGTON :
Notice is hereby given to the qualified voters
of the City of Covington, Georgia, that the
Mayor and Council of said City have called an
election to be held at the voting precinct in
said City, within the legal hours for holding
elections, on the 24th day of January. 1907,
as provided for by Secs. 377, 378 , 379 and
380, of the Code of Georgia, 1895, Y ol. 1, to
determine the question, whether bonds shall
be issued by said City.
Bonds proposed to be issued to the aggre¬
gate amount of $20,00.00, in Twenty Bonds
of said City, of the denomination of $1,000.00
each, to run Thirty Years, and bear intsrest
at the rate of 5 per cent, per annum. The
principal and interest of said bonds to be pay¬
able in gold coin of tke United States of
America of the present standard and weight,
and fineness, and no part of the principal of
said bonds to be paid before maturity, and
the interest is to be payable annually.
A fund is to be provided by the Mayor and
Council of said City, each year from the date
of said bonds to the maturity thereof, by an¬
nual taxation sufficient for the payment of the
principal of said bonds ot maturity, and the
payment of the annual interest due on the
same -

tion, and equipment of the City Electee Light I
Plant, and by rebuilding the Electric J.igh,
Plant after it was blown up by an explosion
and in payment of the claim of Airs. Me
Cullough. wife of John McCullough, who wa.:
killed in said explosion.
Those voting in favor of b >nds shall have
printed or written on their ballots, the words,
‘•FOR BONDS.” an'd those voting against
said bonds styall have printed or written on
their billots the words, “AGAINST
BONDS.”

In pursuance of paragraph 6, Sec. SS, of the
City laws, which reads as follows :
“If any municipal election in and for said
City be held between tho regular annual elec¬
tions for Mayor and Council, upon public
notice being given of such election, any person
who had not registered for the previous regu.
lar annual election and who is a legally quali¬
fied voter otherwise, may then register. The
voters’ book to be kept open for ten days for
that purpose, and subject, when closed, to in¬
spection and revision as herein before provided’’
The registration books will be held open at
' the office of City Clerk for ten days, begin¬
ning January 1st, 1906, and closing January
nth. 1907.
