COVINGTON, GEORGIA, FRIDAY, MARCH 22, I907.
Editorial Appreciated in
Lone Star State*
Dallas, Tex., March If), 1907.
Mr. Jas. P. Cooley,
Covington, Ga.
Dear Sir: I note with interest
your editorial regarding the re¬
cently elected senator from Texas.
I want you to know that there are
thousands in this state who have
the same feeling as you and the
tarcial investigation has only
served to strengthen the opinion of
those of us who have no political
uxe to grind that Mr. Bailey is not
a worthy representative of this
great commonwealth. Personally
I have no interest whatever in the
matter further than a desire to see
men of integrity in such offices as
that of United States senator, and
the statement of Mr. Bailey re¬
garding the character of those who
have dared voice their convictions
ugainst him by no means proves a
fact. Yours very truly,
E. E. LEE.

Caller.
Col. James P. Cooley, editor of
The Covington Enterprise, one of
our most highly appreciated ex¬

Thursday night and Friday, the
guest of his friend, Mr. S. H

paid the News office a pleasant
call. He is a very forcible writer,
a prominent attorney and, in view
of his worth in many ways to
Covington and Newton county, we
predict much for him in the future.
