Bv ELLEN AARON AND
LU BEENE ELLIOTT.
Dear Editor:
^ 0 are getting along nicely in
'br school. Our teacher, Miss
Gaa Hicks, is the best teacher in
county, (at least we think
>•)
don’t enter the school room
11 any sort of but march
a way, we
n regular order.
Sometimes we get tired and
° u fj stu dy as we ought, but our
teller always has a pleasant
[toile and a word of good cheer
°r us.
. rtbday ^ have ierciees, .had our Washington s
e and now look
^ forward to the Easter egg hunt
I know we will have lots of fun.
Our Commissioner, Mr. ArlamsT
and Mr. Cooley, came out to see
us last week. Mr. Cooley gave us
a nice talk.
We all like Mr. Adams, and
hate to give him up, but we con¬
gratulate the Diiectors of the
Agricu'tural School for getting
such a good man as Mr. Adams
for their principal.
Who do you all say i|ill be our
next County Commissioner? We
are in favor of Mr. Cooley. i
Mr. Cooley asked why did !
us we
not answer some of those questions
in the paper.
We think if that man could not
educate both children it would be
best to give the girl the preference
as the boy could make hia way in
the world somehow or work on a
farm.
We like this page ir. The Enter¬
prise, and read it just as soon as
it comes, for we know it will help
US.

Oakland School.
My teacher has appointed me
to write the news from our school
this week, I do not practice this
much but I will try it, so here
goe9.
Our school is in a prosperous
condition, and we have a good
enrollment. Some of us loose |
contidence in learning much, and !
we neglect some of our studies but
by the help of our teachers we get
along very well.
They teach us *o kpep on trying
if we fail at at first keep or. trying
until we sneered, and at the end
we will come out all right.
' Our teachers are very kind to
us in trying to get us to under¬
stand our lesson.
Several of the school children
have Been absent for the last few
days on account of sickness, but
we hope they will soon be able to
come back.
The farmers of this place are
stirring aloug with iheir farming
they will soon be ready for plant
lUg.
Mis? KfTie Cowan visited our
the ENTERPRISE, COVINGTON GA
school one day last week, we are
always glad to have visitor.
Among our visitors was Col.
James P, Cooley, we were very
glad to have him with us. He
gave us a good talk, and he inter¬
ested the little folks by telling
them the story of Uncle Remus
He told them about the way Brer
Rabbit got the fish from Brer Fox
and how Brer Rabbit rode Brer
Fox to see his sweet-heart, We
want him to come again, for he
always has something good for
118.
We had a match on the hooks
of the Bible last Friday afternoon
and a prize was offered to the one
that stood the longest aud it was
rewarded to Miss Katherine
Prueth.
Yours Respectfully,
Albert Middlebrooks.

We appreciate so much the
kindness of the Editor in giving
this educational page, even if we i
have expressed our appreciation I
before.
Our school is progressing nicely
under the management at MFs
Annie Higgins. We all like our
teacher very much and she seems
to take so much interest in trying i
to build ui» ^ our school ' We hone P r

We have had a small School for j
several years, but it has increased
this year, although now, we have
only thirty-four pupils on roll.
To day is history day, and our
teacher requested the sixth grade
of which I am a member, instend
of a regular lesson, to give
sketches of the liv^s of Southern
Generals: Each to select his |
favorite. We have just finished j
the civil war, so these papers we r e i

chicken contest will be a good
thing, and hope some of our school
will be interested m it.
