Newborn, Ga., April 3.—As a
representative of the Enterprise,
on his short visit to this place last

he has since sold to Mr. G. N.
Chandler. Mr. J. T. Wilson fol¬
lowed suit by building a nice little
cottage of the same class.
About this time the business in¬
terest of the town woke up. The
Newborn Supply Co., was organ¬
ized and chartered with a large
capital and erected a fine depart¬
ment store of three rooms at a cost
of over $7,000. Their business
was opened the first of November,
and with Mr. L. P. Duke as Presi¬

going at ‘‘full tilt.”
W. E. Stowe & Co., who have
been doing a successful business
for years, awoke of their own in

standing the competition it had in
the Madison Oil Co. ginnery here,
which is itself a strictly first class
plant.
At present Newborn still grows.
Just as we hear the echoes of the
hammer die away that put the
finishing touches on the beautiful
residence of Dr. J. T. Pitts, a
building that will rank with the
beautiful Peachtree street build¬
ings of Atlanta, vte hear them
again further down Main street as
the pretty little cottage of Mr. \V.
II. Smith is being erected.
And the end is not yet Plans
have been perfected and the mate
rial is being purchased by Mr. J.
\Y. Pitts for a magnificent residence
on Johnston street. From
and specifications known to
correspondent, this building
excel anything in Newborn
several thousand dollars.
With this, (merely to get

promise to give you full

enough for pulling. In the
time, keep your eye on Newborn.

FOR 15CTS AN ACRE.
For 15cts an acre you can increase the yield of your corn from two
tQ ejght bushels.
For 70cts an acre you can increase the yield of your cotton from
two and a half to ten dollars an acre.
A peck ot enramon corn a9 feed is worth 20cts. A peek of either
C • Higgins White” or “Eureka” will cost 50cts. Either of these will
make the increase mentioned with the same work. In every trial
Cook’s Improved cotton has gone away ahead of all the common va
rieties. It will make as many pounds of seed cotton per acre as any,
yields about six pounds more of lint to the hundred than the green
seed. An acre of green seed producing five hundred pounds make a
hundred and seventy pounds of lint, Cook’s Improved producing five
hundred pounds make two hundred pounds of lint. At lOcts a pound
one will be seventeen dollars, the other twenty. Green seed worth
30cts a bushel, Cook’s Improved $1.00. Profit $2.30.
For Cook’s Cotton Seed or either variety of corn send at once to
to G. W. W. STONE,
