^ara
#S of the Dixie decided to go into business
m When the proprietors
s&dO- for themselves their intention was to make an honest living.
MS To be honest, they determined to give in every instance full
value received. To give that value they recognized the fact that
■
no thing but absolute thoroughness in preparing students for their
*e*:£ life work could bring that result.
ml Thev determined to make their courses of study as thorough
SI as possible. school and daily
Their experience of 15 years in the room,
mi contact with business life of the community enabled them to judge
JSzjti what was best in all that pertains to shorthand, bookkeeping and
r typewriting and they have chosen none but the very best, notwith*
standing the fact that the best is not always the shortest, in period
^ & of time, though it is certainly the shortest profession in the end. long enough
They have been in the business college
*3$' 4 to know that short and easy systems of shorthand, and short and
-fiXC* easy systems of bookkeeping produce, and can only produce poor
F ’ r |y prepared, incompetent bookkeepers and stenographers, and they
:%T\ do not propose to turn out that kind of article.
Nor do they desire that patronage which insists upon success
without being willing to work for it.
They do not advertise any six weeks systems of shorthand or
4 bookkeeping, or any such stuff and nonsense.
As they know from long experience that they are worthless,
m L that they are catch pennies, booby traps old as the hills, held out
-
m } to lure the unwary or the uninformed.

NEW GINNERY
FOR MANSFIELD
Necessarry Amount Raised at
Meeting of Citizens Last
Tuesday Afternoon.
At a very enthusiastic meeting
of the representative husinsss men
of Mansfield held Wedneeduy af¬
ternoon, a large and complete
ginnery was assured for Mansfield.
In less than two hours a com¬
mittee soliciting subscription for
stock had reported the entire
amount $5,000 taken.
A Board of Directors was elect
ed, made up of the following gen¬
tlemen: Messrs. E. L. Almand,
W. B. Hurst, S. R. Campbell, R.
W. Campbell and A. E. Cougler.
These gentlemen were instructed
to begin at once, and select a lo¬
cation and purchase machinery.
The very best machinery on the
market will be bought and the gin
will be built where it will be most
convenient to its patrons,
This has been a long-felt want
here, and means that a great deal
of money that has been going
away will remain where it belongs
—at home.—Mansfield Leader.

The most stupendous of nil leapers
of the sea is the whale, but tho whale
is not a fish. I have seen a monster
weighing hundreds of tons, possibly
eighty feet in length, rise slowly and
deliberately out of the water until It
appeared to be dancing on the sur¬
face, entirely clear of it, then sink
slowly back. Such a leap is oh record
)n the annals of the British navy. A
large whale cleared a boat, going com

twenty feet in air—how many In a
lateral direction was not known.—
