and Willie Bernice Green, of

Fields Taylor spent several days

Honor Misses King and Howell
Miss Essie Jordan entertained
delightfully last Saturday evening
in honor of her charming and pop
uiar guests, Misses Ida King and
Kate Howell, of Atlanta.
The house was beautifully deco
rated with palms, ferns and great
clusters of fragrant narcissus.
A delicious salad course and hot
chocolate were served during the
evening.

Cooper, Simms Heard, James Bon
nell, Bonnell Stone, Asa Lemon,

Holiday Dance.
One of the most beautiful social
events of the week, was the dance
given Monday evening, at the Op¬
era House, by the young gentle¬
men of the city, in honor of the
home girls and their charming
guests.
The hall was artistically decora¬
ted with holly, southern smilax,
great clusters of mistletoe and
Christmas bells.
Punch was served during the
evening by Mrs. C. A. Franklin.
Many beautiful and elegant toilets
were seen. Bearden’s full orches¬
tra from Atlanta, furnished music
for the occasion.
Besides the home girls, among
the visitors were, Misses Vera, An¬
nelle and Ellyne Franklin, of

School.
Mr. R. P. Loster, superintend¬
ent of the Methodist Sunday school
gave a delightful party to the chil¬
dren of the Sunday School Tues¬
day evening.
The little folks spent the even¬
ing in playing different games,
romping and having a good time
generally, after which they en¬
joyed ail sorts of good things to
eat, and each child was made hap¬
py by being given a bag of Xmas
“goodies.”
Mr. Lester is one of tbo best
loved and most popular superin¬
tendents the Sunday school has
ever had and has endeared him¬
self to both old and young by his
kindness to old and young.

Mrs. R. P. Lester entertained
her Sunday school class Monday
at her beautiful home iu Midway,
with a salamagundy party.
The house was prettily decorat
d with holly wreathes, red bells
and mistletoe. After many amus¬
ing games, delightful refresh¬
ments were served.

The young men of the K. A.
fraternity gave an informal recep¬
tion at their club rooms in Oxford
Monday afternoon, iu honor of
Miss Essie Jordan and her guests,
Misses Howell and King, cf At¬
lanta. The other guests present
were, Miss Sue Means, of Oxford;
Miss Janie Hearn, of Eatontou,
and Miss May Belle Clark, of Cov¬
ington. The party was chaperon¬
ed by Mrs. W. C. Clark.
