A marriage which came as a great
surprise to the friends of the con
t acting parties,was that of Mr.Lewis
Clark and Miss Annie Harris, which
occurred Sunday afternoon at the
home of Judge Ben Woodruff and
with Judge Woodruff performing the
ceremony. The happy young couple
arc at home for the present at Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Clark’s where they
are receiving the congratulations of
their many friends.
Musical.
One of the most delightful social
events of the summer was a musical
given at the home of Mrs. William
Conyers Clark in North Covington on
Saturday evening.
The artists erf the evening by

A wedding of much interest is
that of Miss May Loyd and Mr. Wil¬
bur Stuart Sewell, which took place

Mr. Sewell is the only son of Rev.
and Mrs. J. M. Sewell. Since his
graduation at Emory in the class of

In Act I a flower contest in which
MissEloise Cooper was the success
ful contestant, proved itself to be a
most happy pasttime. Act II was
cidodly unique. A couple seated op
posite each other at a table was
requested to give a left handed
sketch of each other—the young lady
to give a pencil sketch with her left
hand of the young man; while
young man was to give a written de
scription of the young lady. At the
end of ten minutes time was called
and Mr. George Butler capturing the
piize was presented with a hand
rairror. Mr. Butler, the successful
contestant delineated in the follow¬
ing entertaining way on his subject:
