FROM A NEIGHBOR
We are glad to know that the En¬
terprise is going to surprise you
sometime soon.
Its Enterprising editor Mr. J. N.
Snow, although being confined to his
bed for sometime has not let the time
pass idly by. He has put into use one
of the latest and best job
presses in the counrty and now he is
preparing to turn out as good job
work as can be done in any job
in the state. He has also placed in to
use a 30-inch Chandler & Price pa¬
per cutter, the largest and best pa¬
per cutter that has ever been
brought to Covington.
He will lay aside the old newspa¬
per press that has been in service
ir. Covington for many years and put
in its place one of the most up to
date news presses in the country,
but on account of his illness it will
be the first of January before he
can get his new press in operation.—

Law of the Road an Error.
Editor Enterprise:—
The custom of drivers of car
riages, buggies, autos and all other
vehicles to take to their right on
meeting others on the road is an er¬
ror. They ought to take to the left.
This each would other bring the drivers so near j
to that they could see the
meeting of the wheels soon enough
to prevent a collision. The legislature
should make this the law of the road.

The Ozburn house on East Floyd-sL
.ind qcupied by L. Prosser and family
was destroyed by fire Sunday night
at 9:30.
At the time the fire was discovered
the family was asleep and the kitchen
practically burned to the pillars.
The fire department quickly respond
to the alarm, but so much headway
had been made that their efforts to
save the building were futile. It is
not known how the fire started.
Mr. Prosser saved the greater part
his furniture. The house was par¬
insured.

THE SUNDAY SCHOOL
AND ITS WORK
Continued from first page
into the home-life: they may sup¬
plement by private study all along
through life the knowledge acquired
at Sunday school. Eut here chiefly
are we to look for the implantation
and culture in the masses of a taste
for Bible study and Interest in the
enterprises of the church. The vast
j body of the people have neither,
the leisure nor means to attend the
great schools ofBiblical literature and
theology. For only ministers is it
practicable to receive directly the
benefit of the acquisitions these in
ititutjons may supertuld to the
knowledge acquired in the Sunday
school and by private study. The
brightest minds of the age, however,
and most diligent students of the
Word of God are devoting their time
and talents to popularizing the most
advanced branches of religious knowl¬
edge, and publishers by means of
popular prices are placing within easy
reach of the people the results of
these studies. The function demand¬
ed of the Sunday school is to give
them a taste for such reading, and to
originate and cultivate the spiritual
perception that will enable them to
understand, and to agitate and excite
the moral sensibilities so that impulse
may be set in motion for the
achievement of-practical good.
(To be concluded next week.)
The many friends of Mr. J. N. Sno
will be pained to learn of his 111
ness. Mr. Snow Is the enterprising
editor of the Covington Enterprise,
He has been missed from the editor
ial columns of the Enterprise for the
past month and his many friends will
welcome him back to his place.—
